    Default Diplomacy Idea.

    Is it possible to add a new diplomacy option to TATW?

    I'd like to see an option for good nations. "Commit to repel invasion"

    Which would give good nations military access for, say 15 turns, to send an army down to aid the defender. And allied armies some form of campaign map movement bonus for the duration of the invasion.

    Good nations banding together as we know, happened at Minas Tirith, and according to the PJ films, also at Helms Deep. They also went under the banner together to take the fight to Mordor (in the second age??)

    Anyway, its not a completely necessary addition, just something I'd like to see.

    hmm, I am not a lord of the rings specialist.. but for the sake of gameplay I too would like to see this.

    It would make for more gameplay depth.

    (and I think it's really cool to have another nations army on your battlemap!!)

    but not 15 turns, that will be very fast, 25-30 turns more adequate

    Yes it would be very good if there would be somtething like that. But I quess that it is not possiable... It would be in already if it is possiable.

    It's probably hardcoded and couldn't be modded I think.

    hm, that sounds interesting and would be a great game feature.
    and i think it should be possible because there must be a
    command for setting military access on and off.

    something like that:

    force_diplomacy <accept/decline/off> :[/code][code] Forces the negotiator to accept or decline a proposition

    diplomatic_stance <faction_a> <faction_b> <allied/neutral/war> : Set the diplomatic stance between the two factions (factions must be different)

    set_option <opt_name> <opt_value> : Set new value for specified option (use 1 and 0 for boolean options)

    Good factions should be able to trigger "jihad" somehow...

    Diplomacy could be good means of doing so.

    Sorry for taking over this thread with advertising..

    BUT - DaC has Jihads instead of crusades for 'evil' as crusades required an immortal pope.. NOW you can destroy Sauron and eliminate Barad Dur and Mordor will fall! making all the area unreachable for the rest of the game.

    We plan to reintroduce either crusades or elaborate scripted missions (or both) as the White Council but we are starting work on this feature after our next big release.

    Hey guys, just to let you know DaC has been at work doing something not too different than this.. If you dont care that the Elf units remain under the control of their native faction - we have alreay started providing scripted army reinforcements to different factions to based on lore, i.e. Gondor are reinforced by Rohan and an army from Rivendell to defend against invading Mordor..

    I want to see the desertion factor back. It pisses me off like when I see a stack of invading Orcs that are going away from me and lose no orcs.....wtf? I mean it is reli unfair cos my ai uses invasions as chances to blitz all my settlements (never succededs the snaga humping orc ) and I think that is slightly silly that they do not lose units. (And I dont assassinate generals cos I enjoy the battles, just ranting cos it is small thing that irritates me a bit.....a lot.....majorly.....

    Many things are changing in 4.0 - including the colors. pinks, yellows, ect - it is all looking bright again

    Back on topic, the diplomacy stuff has been improved but we wont know until KK release his 1.2...
