This thread is for reporting any bugs you find in the 1.3 campaign.
To help me fix these bugs please provide the following information:
1) What Campaign you were playing.
2) What the problem is.
3) What you were trying to do when the problem occurred.
4) An error log. The error log is 'system.log.txt' file in the 'Medieval II Total War\logs' folder (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\logs').
To attach an error log to your post press the 'Manage Attachments' button in the 'Additional Options' menu. This will bring up a pop-up menu where you can upload files.

1. 1400
2/3. Was able to select faction (Scotland), change game options, clicked to begin game, got the loading screen graphic briefly, then the screen went dark and the computer locked up. Had to cold boot to clear it.
4. System log attached.
After re-booting, I was able to start the game using the same scenario and faction. Worked great the second time. Maybe I needed a re-boot after installation or something.
Anyway, great mod! I really like being able to play different eras and different factions.
My 1400s campaign with Scotland ended with a CTD in around 1409 or so. I hate CTDs--they ruin the game for me--so I started a new campaign as Hungary in the crusades scenario.
This campaign continues to go well, but I have noticed that in battles where you get reinforcements, that an extra bit of the HUD interface from the bottom of the screen also appears at the top right, just to the left of the reinforcing general's portrait. It does not do anything bad, but it is annoying.
This is a great mod. Has the feel of Deus lo Vult, but better (especially the education system).
Just get rid of the instability issues and you are fine.
How do you re-activate auto-save at the end of the turn? I would do that. I don't mind replaying a turn when you get a CTD...often times the game will work correctly if you reload it and go to the next turn (i.e., it won't crash again).

Go to the conquest.cfg and add "auto_save = 1" to the "[game]" section or go to the "medieval2.preference.cfg" and change "auto_save = 0" to "auto_save = 1" under the "[game]" section. If it looks like this "#auto_save = 1", get rid of the # so you get this "auto_save = 1". I hope that helps you.
I've re-installed Conquest 1.2 without the patch and the three eras seem to be working fine (ie: no ctd after 20 turns so far) however I still get the HUD bug CaptainScott mentioned.
Screen is from era "1230 Crusades"

1. 1500's empire, as scotland.
2. Game freezes and I am unable to back out in any way shape or form
3. Look up the family tree.
4. How do I give you my system log?
I also seem to have a one in four chance when quiting the campaign to have the game crash. So far, your mod screams professionalism. I am willing to beta test, and restart my computer a hundred times to get this mod to perfection. You really have made a superb mod. This mod screams effort, time, and lots of coding, and I am willing to do whatever I can to make this mod more and more playable.
1) I can't play any campaigh exept the 1500 empires
2) i follow the instructions for installing but when i enter the choise for the campaigh , from conquset.bat the crush me to the desktop the only working option is the empire 1500, any idea for sollution ???
Another CTD, this time right at the start of the game (as the initial game was loading). Got the loading screen, load bar went all the way to the right, then black screen.
1453 scenario, playing Poland.
This mod is really good, but also really buggy. I doubt if it will sustain my interest for too much longer. I hate investing lots of time into a game only to have it CTD all the time.
I'm currently trying to find the cause the persistant crashes. Currently I have two theories:
1) A file from another mod in the vanilla data folder is conflicting with my mod.
2) It's a result of giving a faction a 'teutonic' family tree and the ability to have princesses. I have found that when a princess from a 'teutonic' family tree marries a general on the battle map the general cannot enter settlements or attack armies. I have not been able to determine whether this can cause the mod to crash but I believe it's better to remove this problem.

I have tried playing as Croatia and while there is sometime odd about this faction (the campaign won't load if I don't declare that it has a family tree, even when it lacks one) I cannot get the mod to crash. Can you check your vanilla data folder (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data') and tell me what files are in there in case a file you have is conflicting with this mod.

Thanks for the offer. I'll let you know if I need help beta testing a campaign.

That sounds like a missing texture or mesh. Can you cause the crash again and upload an error log, so I can determine what is missing.

If you're using Vista you have to be logged in as the administrator to be able to copy files.

The mod crashed because it couldn't find the textures attached to this post. You need to put them in the 'Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest\data\models_strat\textures' folder (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest\data\models_strat\textures').
I'm not sure why the mod crashed as these files are included in the 'conquest_patch.7z'.

I downloaded the textures and extracted them where directed. However, when I did so, the program indicated that identical files were already in place. It would appear to me, at least, that this was not the cause of the crash.

I noticed there were two files in the conquest/data folder, one called model_strat (which is from the patch) and the other models_strat. If you copy and paste the files from model_strat to models_strat the "new age" campaign should load as normal.
