By 'shields' I'm referring to the Coat of Arms used to represent factions (I should have explained this more clearly). My mod uses up to 30 factions per campaign so I need the 'shared.sd' and 'strategy.sd' files to add extra coats of arms. As the vanilla M2TW has 20 coats of arms a mod with less than 20 factions won't need to add extra coats of arms, this is why I said it probably won't affect a mod with more than 20 factions.

This mod shouldn't interfere with SS because this mod has 30 factions so it uses 'shared.sd' and 'strategy.sd' files for extra coats of arms but will probably interfere with TA because it doesn't use 'shared.sd' and 'strategy.sd' files because it has less than 20 factions.

Every time I start it up it says the files are copied but it just stays on a black screen and I have to hit Esc to exit

Try pressing '0' (zero) then press the 'return' key. '0' starts the mod without copying any files.

I've finally finished the 2.0 patch. I'd like to thank cedric37, History, and the Holy Pilgrim for all their help and support. Below is a copy of the installation instructions from the first post, please let me know if it doesn't install correctly, this is the first time I've tried to make an exe file.


Eras Total Conquest Installation Guide

This mod is for Kingdoms and it is strongly recommended that you upgraded to the 1.5 version of Kingdoms to prevent some factions suddenly being destroyed when their faction leader dies.

The current version is the 2.0 version.

1) Download the 1.6 version from this thread and install it.

2) Go to the 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest\data' folder and delete the 'world' folder. The installer cannot delete files so you have to delete them manually.

3) Download the 2.0 patch here and install it in your Medieval II Total War directory (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War').

4) To start the mod go to your in your Medieval II Total War directory (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War') and click on the 'conquest XP.bat' it you're using XP or 'conquest VISTA.bat' if you're using Vista or Windows 7.

This will bring up the Eras Menu. Select the campaign you want to play (type either 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E', '1', '2', or '3' and press 'enter' or 'return').

If the Eras Menu closes after loading the files but the mod doesn't start then double click on the 'conquest.bat' and on the Eras Menu type '0' (zero).

How to uninstall Eras Total Conquest

To uninstall this mod delete the 'Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest' folder (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest'), and the 'Medieval II Total War\data\ui\shared.sd' and 'Medieval II Total War\data\ui\strategy.sd' files.

I see you have removed the 2.0 update from the OP because the installer doesn't work (for the moment), correct? I guess this could be done manually in the mean time?

EDIT: I have a CTD playing ERAS 2.0 - 1400 Europe centered. As East Roman Empire. The "Empire"is offcourse tiny and I move the lonly free stack (lead by the heir) to fight "Smyrna" -Settlement (east, south east of Constantinople) controlled by Ottoman. On load up the the battle - it CTD's.

The 7zip installer is very basic so I can't give the file an icon or set where it's meant to unpack. Please let me know if you have any problems with this installer.

i just have a question , could you possebly upload the file to somewhere else ? , ive been trying to download the 1.6 from there these past few days , the 2.0 is the same thing, its just tooooooo slow , and the site never acually lets me download allways busy , i got through once n downloaded for around 10hrs ....... with a 10mbit UL n DL , anyway it crashed after 10hrs downloading n didnt get through after that,

I've finished uploading this mod in 3 parts on megaupload.

1) Download the conquest 2.0 part 1.exe, conquest 2.0 part 2.exe, and conquest 2.0 part 3.exe from here:

2) Unpack the conquest 2.0 part 1.exe, conquest 2.0 part 2.exe, and conquest 2.0 part 3.exe in the 'Medieval II Total War' folder (the default location of the 'Medieval II Total War' folder is 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War'). The mod will not work if you don't have all 3 parts.

Hey i just wasted like 2 hours trying to download from the 3-split files. Part 1 and 3 were fine but im nearly 100% positive Part 2 is corrupted, as it keeps terminating the download at 12% and showing that the file is corrupted. I tried on my pc AND laptop as well.

I'll give downloading the 1.6v a shot then patching to 2.0.. man this is going to take a long ass time.
I've played the mod before though, so i know it's worth it.
