    Default Copperknickium!

That's right! I am so great they have named an element of the periodic table after me.

    Link

They spelled it incorrectly, but its better than nothing. It seems strange to me that we still do not know all of the substances which make up the periodic table 100 years after it was invented. They apparently had to bombard lead with Zinc atoms with a particle accelerator. But they did it. Maybe there is hope for the LHC afterall.

A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

The element was discovered in 1996 and it's Uub (ununbium). They want to offically rename it to Copernicium (Cp), which would be a much cooler name.

    Copernicus deserves his own element

Yes i saw that. I presume ununbium was always going to be a temporary name. And Copernicium is a lot easier to remember with all of the other elements down there being called ununilium and umbliciium etc.

Since tone often does not make itself clear on the internet - it was a joke.
