I just started playing this mod and I noticed that im not making any money. Rome is sucking up almost all of my gross income. Is there any chance that this will be changed in Roma Surrectum II?

It's pretty strange that you're not making any money. RS 1.5 is pretty lenient. What did you do? Start pumping out legions right away, without first building economic structures?
The economy in RS II is still being balanced and tweaked, but my impression is that it will be excellent. It won't be very friendly to blitzers though!![]()

the Economy in RS2 is an animal. If you abuse what you got, it will rip you apart. If you nuture and slowly alow yourself to prosper, the economy will become your friend. Just ensure that you don't go on one massive spending spree and then have someone declare war on you. It won't be pretty.

in my current roman game, i have 3 million gold to throw around, never a shortage of it
I try hard to have a situation where one has 'enough' to do as you please. I don't really find it much fun to scrimp and save just to buy a few peasants. It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. So I like to have money to do stuff. Plus, if I have money, so does the AI, which only makes it all the better an opponent.![]()

How many turns are you into the game and what difficulty?

Don't forget to ignore the amount you see on the campaign map, it will always be skewed anyways. Just look at your final figures for a turn to see how you're doing. The monetary amount displayed by the settlement name is not an accurate reflection of how much or little it contributes to your economy.

Truly? This mod is the easiest to make money in, ever. Try EB, IB, or God forbid ATW if you want a deficit.

Funny that...
Have you tried just not doing anything for a few turns? I'm kind of a big spender in RS1.5c coz I keep an average profit of 10D (yes small, but at least I not loosing any) when I spend myself down into the low 100s each turn, I never really had this "too much money" thing, but I never even got close to bankruptcy in at least 80 turns.
Maybe try again? I can't see how you could be so poor unless you strapped something in early on.
