    Default Help with editing ui.loc

Hello, I'm currently doing a english to swedish translation of this game and I know some basic things about script editing with esf editor. The problem is that there's alot of dublicates in the strings which makes the word alot more hard than it have to be. Imagne that I need to type a 200 word message five times in order to make it all work out right. With the automatic tools availible in Mircosoft word, excell or even notepad this would make my work ALOT more easier. Especially since I can copy-paste properly then. But when I try to open up ui.loc I only see mostly chinese text. Please respond fast - I'm very dedicated to this and any help to even make this file availible in notepad would speed up my work ten-fold.

In the ui are pics as far as I now. You want translate text? Use the Pack File Manager.

You can export pack files on desktop and open them for expl. in text editor and pack them again. Very simple.

I wrote I'm using the Pack File Manager (esf editor) and the ui.loc is in the local_en.esf. The problem with the pack file manager is that it doesn't allow me to copy or paste things into the strings and that slows down text editing. I guess I have to try with the notepad ... again.

Export the file as a .tsv and open it with microsoft excel. When you're done, you can re-import the TSV. Should drastically increase your productivity. I do it myself because it allows me to sort and arrange data more easily, and make bulk changes with formulas. You can also search and compare data if you lose anything or forget your changes with the EXACT function. The only thing I would say is you can add rows but you MUST not write in any of the columns besides the original data though or you'll corrupt the file. Always do your editing in a new sheet, and copy the data BACK to the original sheet, copying values and formatting only.
