When I click save and try to exit, it says "There are unsaved changes, would you like the opportunity to save them?" So I click yes and save, and the same message the next time. Ive tried copying and saviing, ctrl+s, but nothing works, it just wont save! can anyone help?!?

In my experience if you don't save first, try to exit and see the message "There are unsaved changes, would you like the opportunity to save them?", may have problems saving at all. The best way is to remember saving before exit.

Are you entering the right type of entry? (If for example the entry is a word (True/False) you can't put numbers, or if there is 9 digit number you can't put 1 digit number). Check with another original startpos in a different window side by side to be sure for the changes, step by step.
