Brittania Campaign No Sound (yes, i checked the options)

Hey.
First off, i wanted to make the turns on the brittania campaign from one year to a half a year, which i already did for the grand campaign and it worked fine.

so i went to medieval 2 total war, mods, british isles, data, world, map, campaign, imperial campaign, descr_strat and changed it from 1.00 to 0.50.
went to go play and there was no sound, and wen i would click on the campaign, it would say please select something below. reinstalled it, now campaign works, but still no sound except wind bowing. anyone know whats going on, r how i can fix it?

Bad install of the campaign(s). Have you modified any other files? Have you installed any mods?

Irish is right. To me it sounds like a bad install as well, it can be the installation wizard screwed up and placed the files in a bad place, the files don't exist or the .exe simply doesn't know how to use them.

What I suggest is look in your folder, PATHWAY TO MEDIEVAL II MAIN FOLDER\Medieval II\mods\british_isles\data\sounds

Tell us what files are in there, it is quite possible you are missing several, if not all, files.

**In which case, I suggest, if you have your Kingdoms CD, go to the same pathway (Insert the CD, right click, Explore) in the CD, find all those files, and simply copy-paste them there.

** Before doing what I said about, PLEASE, report what files you have in said directory!

the sounds i have are:
events.dat
events.idx
music.dat
music.idx
SFX.dat
SFX.idx
Voice.dat
Voice.idx

i uninstalled british isles by going to control panel, and uninstall. is it possible that it missed something? I'll try reinstalling it again and see what happens.

Yes. It missed something...
Uninstalling using the Windows uninstaller is not a good thing. You should've ran the disk, pressed uninstall and uninstalled it, or, went to Start, found your way to Kingdoms and uninstall British Isles.

It seems you are not missing any files. Weird. Could be that the game cannot implement the files...
In this case, I will suggest a reinstall. This problem may be a lot more complicated, so a completely reinstall of British Isles should do the trick. If it doesn't, we're always here.

The most sure way I have is to install the whole Kingdoms package. To do it right, You may have to uninstall everything and reinstall from scratch. This game is complicated and finnicky.
