Default What did I do?? I thought we were friends!

I was considering posting in the bugs thread but I have learnt that this game is mysterious to the untrained eye yet brilliant when it's logic is revealed.

I'm playing as BtR (aka ERE) on H/H and I'm having quite a successful campaign.
A crusade was launched against Messina... great! I thought I'll broaden my diplomatic horizons and chat to the many foreigners that are about to pass through my realm.
Out of nowhere I get a message saying I had gone to war with Hungary...yet I assure you no hostilities had taken place. I certainly hadn't done anything and if they had it would have shown me during the end turn process. Then England, Flanders and a couple of others go to war with me too, and there was definately no military contact.
The war seemed to be connected to when the crusading armies enter my territory. I checked re relationships and some arn't great but some are good so that can't be the reason. It is puzzling and rather annoying as it has crippled my economy, especially with the loss of trade with Hungary.

    Can anyone offer any help/advice??
    Thanks,
    CdL

This has happened to me too, sorry but I don't really know why...

For reasons like this I find it very useful to give military access to Venice and Hungary if I am determined to bring christ to the heathen. This way if a crusade is called in the holy land my relations with my christian neighbours will not suffer as they travel through my lands.

... I am sure I remember mention of this issue, I can't remember what causes it though...

afaik it (passing crusaders declaring war) was SS' known bug which was fixed lately... sounds like DLV suffers from it too?

P.S. if it was a Dark Age he'd have plague everywhere and war with everyone around, isnt it? doesnt look like it

Assassins can make countrys go to war.
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

    This seems a likely explanation.
