RTR: Crashes after settlement conquered...
Hello all,
I've got an issue with Rome Total Realism. It seems to crash, i.e: go back to Windows, after a settlement is conquered. Namely, after you select the option "occupy settlement", "exterminate populace" or whatever.
For roughly 25-30 years into the campaign, this problem was not encountered. Then it seems whenever a settlement is conquered, the game crashes. Does anyone know what the deal is here?
I have the RTR version 6.

Have you asked the RTR forum? Have your searched their sub-forums and threads? this is a very mod specific problem, not of general nature.

RTR version 6 Gold - are you running RTW patched to 1.2? If you are unsure of the version number look at the top right hand side of the options menu.
RTR 6 Gold was ported to run in RTW 1.5 and/or RTW BI 1.6 by some fans and called RTR PE (Platinum Edition). There are links to this mod in this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=169585
Anyway, can you provide more information on what is happening? When you attack a settlement and there is an army outside of the settlement that joins the battle it's possible to get what is known as 'the reinforcement CTD'. The exact cause of which is unknown but it affects RTW and all RTW based mods.

Re: RTR: Crashes after settlement conquered...
This problem is quite common with RTW and BI (not with ALX) when you conquer the last settlement of a faction and you have the option AUTO_SAVES enabled.
Try disabling it in the preferences.txt file and see if it still happens.
