    Default Nothing Changed? Works?

    So, I installed RTR perfectly.
I am on Rome: Total War Gold Version by the way, and whenever I click the RTR icon, It loads all nicely, and once the game starts, nothing has changed.

Like, completely nothing, no new factions, units, features.

I know I must have done something wrong, but what?

    Please help...

(By the way, I manually downloaded patches v1.3 and v1.5)

Oh and in the end of installing RTR, it said something about some map or something..

I'm having the same problem. Exactly the same problem. Could we get a little help?

If you could give a few details...
I can`t see any explanation for how you might start the vanilla game with the RTR desktop shortcut. The only way to start vanilla that I can think of is to install the mod in the wrong place(in the folder Activision instead of the folder The Creative Assembly for example) and use the rtw shortcut or the executable directly. If you`d use the RTR shorcut in such a case you`d get prompted with a message telling you that it can`t find the executable. Or to install the mod switch version of RTRPE and start the game with the vanilla rtw shortcut or the DVD pop up panel or directly by double clicking the game`s executable. Again, not with the RTR shortcut.

I think that may be my problem. I must have missed something and I think it may gave gone in the Activision file.

I really don't know computers very well, but I know a problem when I see one, so I took a screen shot of this to help:

EDIT: I reinstalled a third time, being more careful this time around, and got it to work. Now I'm having an entirely different issued but it seems to have already been addressed on this forum. No need to get into it in this thread.

Yes, the later versions of the game(after the creative assembly got bought by sega) install in a folder called The Creative Assembly by default. While RTRPE has the old install path of Activision by default.

If you need help with it feel free to post.

@The squirrel king or anyone who can help me: I have the same problem that you had, except of i'm using RTW and not RTW BI. How did you solve it?

I think you need to figure out where your RTR installed to and move it into your RTW folder.
