What happened to Harad?

So right about turn 90 i get this message saying "Faction destroyed-Harad"

Now im thinking to myself "hold on mate, i used the fog of war cheat a while ago(forgive me) and harad was doing brillaitnly,it had aload of provinces"

So what the ruddy hell happened to harad, Harad was doing very well and now all its territory belongs to bandits

It might be that all family members/generals died. As far as i know this also happens sometimes to the silvan elves.

It happesn to rhun or rohan as wel sometimes, but i think something like that is really anoying...

Assassins aren`t the only problem. Many generals start off around the same age- And therefore die around the same time. Add assassins and you got fun.

just do toggle_fow again and see if they're rebel or not.

I had it happen around that time in my Dwarven campaign. I had finished off Rhun a couple of turns earlier and had driven their last city rebel down in the SE and was headed for it. When I saw Harad was destroyed I assumed Gondor had taken out the family and everything had gone rebel. So I rushed down to try to grab everything up only to find that Gondor had actually conquered everything. They've made similar pushes in a couple of other campaigns where they seem to be able to steamroll Harad.

It happens because there is no longer a royal bloodline to lead the faction. Hopefully in 1.2 this issue will be fixed by the AI adopting and the generals freaking breeding.

harad's family members die way too fast and too frequently. Almost as bad as the silvans

ive had the complete opposite happen to me. in every campaign that i have done where i have had to destroy the OOTMM (HE, SE, and dwarves) i have taken every one of their settlements (checked via toggle_fow) but i have never got the message "faction destroyed". is my game bugged or has anyone else had the same problem?

That is a known bug where evil factions (besides harad and Rhun) never die because of this bug. The hotfix is around here somewhere....try the 1.1 patch note thingy.

In my game Elrond who had 10 stars was killed by an Isengard Assassin, I wiped them off the map for that.

Good job, they deserved that! Same thing happened to me with Gimli (finally reaching Isengard territories) and they killed him with a novice assassin (hired blade trait only!) After that, I have exterminated all their settlements and executed all prisoners.

Well turn 90 is at least a bit into the game.

I can tell you, I was quite surprised when I destroyed the OotMM in turn 17. With 2 units of Light Elven Inf.
