Ram options?
Ok I ran into these on newegg, because I am seriously considering building my own AMD 64 (socket 939) PC.

If you take a close look at the FSB speed it says:
1000MHz Hyper Transport (2000 MT/s).
That in itself is no problem, however I would like to know the maximum speed of RAM I could slap in there. I was wondering because I read in a magazine a few days ago, that double the FSB=max RAM speed. Is that true? Forgive me if this is an extremely stupid question, I'm just looking to see what my options are (and yes I know it lists DDR400 as the "STANDARD", but heh, that is a "STANDARD" afterall right?). Or the simple answer, would it just be better to stick with DDR400? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

the highest speed memory those boards support is DDR400 (PC3200)
the RAM you use is determined by the frontside bus of the processor. More specifically the bus speed. Double that speed and you get your memory speed.
IE, an 800mhz FSB Pentium 4 has a bus speed of 200mhz, so the highest memory it can utilize is DDR400 (2x200mhz) RAM.
You can get higher RAM for lower FSB, but it won't be used to its full potential unless you overclock your processor's fronside bus
