    Default The Supernatural

I started this topic partially inspired by something that happened to my sister today and partially because I was curious about other people's experiences throughout their life that they could not explain. This does not necessarily mean seeing a ghost or something typical like that

Post stuff you have heard from family members or friends that have happened. Strange things.

Now for all you people who make fun of supersticious people, you can keep out of this topic, I am a sceptical person, I question things I hear, as is my mother and sister. My grandmother is supersticious and sometimes my mother makes a little fun of it.

Today something strange happened to my sister, something that I cannot explain and she cannot explain. I will try to paint the picture. I went outside the back door and turned right into small courtyard walled off from the back garden yard where the entrance of a large wooden shed and the back entrance of our garage is. I went into the shed to work on a painting, the front open I saw my sister some out of the back door, she walked through the door into the courtyard and towards the shed to converse with me for a while, then headed to the garage to give some nuts to a dog of ours. The shed front and back entrance of the garage are situated at 90 degrees to eachother so I could not see her nor could I have thrown anything into the garage to hit her. As I was painting she shouted my name aggressively, it was about 9:00. I immedietly shouted " what ?" and she said " you just threw something at me". She eventually realised that would have been absolutely impossible and apologised. Basically she was standing just inside the garage entrance in the room where one of our dogs sleep with her back to the open door and she described feeling something very hard hitting her on her right elbow, enough to knock her 3 feet forward and knock her phone out of her pocket to the other side of the room. I told her even if i did throw something it wouldn't have done that without really hurting her. She was pale and took a while for her to get her head around what happened. When she explained it to our mother she went very silent.

Turns out when my mother went into the garage an hour before hand she was putting some washing in the exact room my sister was, she was in there for about half an hour when my old riding helmet fell off the shelf for no reason to the other side of the room.

My mother is an agnostic, she finds it hard to believe in anything, but she is absolutely baffled and cannot explain what happened.

This is not the first time something strange happened around this area of our site, or just directly outside the back door, something else happened to me when I was 5 that I might explain later.

Also I would like to add we live on a famine road, where i am sure at least some people died of starvation

Share some stuff you may have experienced or people you know may have experienced. I know some people tend to just ignore these things that do not have a direct explanation.

My grandmother and grandfather were staying at a hotel somewhere in Scotland (can't remember which one), during the night my grandmother saw a white mist forming at the door and she thought it was a fire so she woke my grandfather up and they went out into the hallway but there was no fire. Quite weird.

One of our army barracks was known as Ghost Block. Yeah right, newish three story building, unofficial rumors, etc... The building like a Z with right angles, connecting part being stairs and bathrooms. Top floor, right wing, that was it. As it was completely empty, myself and three others asked to move in there, more space, less strict inspections, etc.
After a weekend off, we came back the Sunday night, stayed up late to brag about weekend, girls...
Then the guy, who had hung himself from the rafter through an inspection hatch, started doing his washing. We went dead quiet and listened to him. No other sound apart from him washing something heavy, like our thick overalls we wore during training.
Wash, wash, pick up, hesitate, drop item, quiet, and again. We all fell asleep listening to this.
Next morning, the stainless steel laundry basins were still shining from our polish before leaving four days before.
Suffice it to say, we all took the last piss before lights out from then on.

    Sorry, I'm late.
No, we didn't. We hardly spoke about it... My feeling was of sadness and to give him privacy. Don't know about the others...
We were conscripted into the army for two years, lot of guys couldn't handle it. It sometimes just took something happening at home, eg Dear Johnny, and that would be it.

Poor John. Does it just repeat every night?

I'm sure I've seen a ghost before when I was like 5, still remember it like it was yesterday.

    Sounds like a poltergeist, Eire.

^-^ I have a few..which is probably not very surprising...

My mom once told me that....right before my cousin Hilary died of Brain cancer, that she had seen a cloud that looked like her sillhouette in a coffin.

My aunt told me that she knew my grandfather was going to die.....because she had a dream about it....and stayed up the rest of the night looking at pictures of him.

When I was living with my aunt, one time she brought my uncle Jimmy and I in a room and lit a candle....we sat in a circle around it...and she talked to it and played with the flame a little.....the candel made predictions and spoke through her i guess to tell us stuff that was actually true...

And she even used it as a sort of phone to talk to a friend that lived in West Virginia....I swear to God the next day I sat there and watched her pick up the conversation right where they left off the previous night...it was weird...

One time when I lived in North Carolina...my friends and I were playing in a cemetary in broad daylight when we saw this white dog come through......and then it just suddenly leaped over a tombstone and disappeared straight into the ground...

    Thats pretty creepy.

There is an old " haunted manor " about 10 miles from my house. It went on fire one night when a little girl light a candle on her window and her curtains went on fire, she died screaming. My friend anyway went camping there with his friend and girlfriend about 3 years ago, maybe 4 years ago to the side of the long path leading up to the old boarded up manor. They were camping in a little forest to the side of the path in tents when they apparently saw a light coming from the boarded window and then they heard a scream. He said they ran towards the car park but it felt like the scream was following them or somthing or getting closer. I haven't went walking around that place since, especially during the night. His girlfriend said the story nearly word for word as well and when i made enquiries they were not the only ones who thought the place was haunted.

Though he was kind of see-through, but not totally, it was weird and a long time ago, still remember it to this day and will probably never forget

I've one about my uncle. He always tries, but he can't seem to live together with other women, so he often lives alone, and in one of those houses he lived in there was a ghost story, but he didn't believed it and moved in. Untill one night, he was asleep, but suddenly his dog (who sleeped right next to him) started growling and barking, he woke up, and heard the sound of the doorheck (right spelling?)of his sleeping room going up and down, and he saw a white light going trough his room. Not long after that he moved houses again. That was quite weird indeed.

When I was 4 or 5 I saw something. I only remember it very vaguely but my parents said they remember the whole thing when I ran back into the kitchen. I was given a boiled potato by my mother to give to our labrador ( now missing ) back in around 1994 or 1995 and headed out the back door ( this is the same house as the thing that happened to my sister and roughly the same location ) Anyway, as I have already said there is a small courtyard to your right as you open your back door, there is a balcony outside our back door overlooking our back yard. or garden. I remember my dog Holly running out of the door from the courtyard, from the garage most likely, ignoring me and running to the middle of the balcony, her back faced to the garden and her facing the courtyard tall, i was looking at the right side of her. I threw the potato and I remember it rolling over to Holly but she completely ignored it. I distinctly remember seeing a woman looking down at Holly, her back to the courtyard wall, ignoring me. She had a white shawl over her head so I do not remember a face and she had a blue dress, I tell you now that I have remembered this incident to this day and it has left a lasting impression on me. I remember looking at this figure in front of my dog for a few seconds and then I specifically remember quickly looking to my right to see if anyone else saw it, my head then swung back to see the lady and she was gone. That was it. I remember going back into the kitchen and telling my parents.

My father has recently told me that the did not believe me at first and just brushed it aside but they knew something happened when their 4 year old child talked about what happened nearly everyday, my father now firmly believes me in what i saw as does my mother yet they are not saying what or who they think it was. The house is basically situated on a field so we have a large front and back garden, the field has been owned by my family for at least a century as well as a lot of land around the village. My father is looking into the history of the place now.
