Default Is it my power supply?

    Hey all,
My PC at home just wont turn on anymore. During a thunderstorm I unplugged my PC and now it does nothing, no fans can be heard, not booting up at all. My first guess was the power supply went out, but I dont want to buy a new one only to find out it could be something else. My question is: Is it most likely the power supply? The only thing I see is a small green light that flashes in the back (my power supply)when I try to boot up, but like I said it does nothing at all, no sounds, nothing.

    Thanks,
    Drexx

Do you have a modem installed and did you leave it pluged in?

If yes to both questions it is possible that your Modem got zapped and it is causing your system not to boot. Remove the modem and see if it boots.

Do you get beeps as you power it up? or dose it not do anything when you hit the power button?

I had a network card installed, and no it doesnt make any beeps or sounds whatsoever.

You can try and remove all your cards and see if it boots.

Leave the Video card in and see if anything happens. If not then remove your memory and if it still dose not give you any beeps then remove the vid card and if still no beeps then it is your Power Supply.

    Good Luck

ps: It could also be a bad MotherBoard, but you will not know for sure until you try a new Power Supply.
