who has the best roster?
i feel its Rhun because after you unlock the loke khan units you got everythin covered
i know some of you huys will think this is like the best faction poll but it's not. For this one you have had to actually play them and it doesnt add the ideas of placement allies and such. Also please explain why you voted like you did

Well, you didn't specify what kind of best you were looking for, so I took looks into account along with utility. Rhun wins hands-down for sheer versatility. If they have a weakness, it's that they lack early armor-related (both armor and anti-armor) units early on, but by turn 60 you have all the bases covered pretty well.

If you were going for sheer ownage capability, that would be Mordor without much contest; between Ologs and Black Numenoreans, not much will get in your way, but pretty much all their other infantry is just archer fodder.

PS- This is perhaps a little too similar to the "best faction" thread a few slots down.

Rhun also lacks reliable spearmen in the early/mid game.

However I think Gondor overall is the best faction.

Well i think saying rhun got the most versatile roster is right, but saying the best one? I don`t know.

You can`t really compare Rhuns roster with, let`s say, dwarfs who might lack versatility but are perfectly suited for another kind of warfare.

i view best as the to handle whatever comes at you, so yes versitilty, however i love dwarves too and gondors pretty good as well

Well Mordor needs only trolls for that.

But anyway Gondor is really versatile too, but the AOR for some of its units (Marines, axemen.) lowers the chance of having any kind of unit you might need somewhere in reasonable time greatly. And retraining those guys is a real pain.

I have to say that High Elves roster fairly powerful. Elven heavy calvary isn't great, but it gets the job done, while their archers tear apart everything. The infantry is ok, Warriors of Mithlond are beastly. Only problem with the High Elves roster is the lack of armor piercing units. It's the same with Rhun as the Loke-Flag-Rim (The mace guys) are pretty crappy.

Edit: One thing I don't get, is why aren't Eldar swordsmen AP? I mean, they're supposedly using the best blades forged by the elves and have countless generations of experience to exploit the chinks in an enemy's armor.

And don't forgot that elven weapons also were most sharpest in Middle Earth what means a lot when talking about armor piercing.

About the best units I can't really say anything, because they are all best their own way and is that how it should be.

After unlocking every unit, Rhun is by far the best. Good spearmen, infantry, archers, and cavalry. Immediately, however, I'm not really sure. The Dwarves have pretty strong units

harad, those mumakil flatten whole armies on their own. and if you send them on invasions they don´t cost you any upkeep. i had two full stacks of mumakil and nothing could stand my way.

I voted silvan elves - i like the archers and cav archers - suits my ambush tactics that can also be used on the open field.

and with the elves, i have made all archers and sword wielders AP as standard (mid to high tier units only)

elven archers are the best. period. I only do that to reflect their marksmanship (aiming for joints in armour and gaps in it.

Elves are the dogs bollocks, the bees kness and other all sorted bits or various animals heh heh heh

overpowered no. They are just beasts!

and i object to giving trolls of any sorts any defence skill - they dont have any! They only have they natural armour - do you see them parrying a blade or deflecting an arrow? they just take it! I say give them armour otherwise but get rid of their defence skill
