unspecific error??

When I start the game, there is a error "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit." Please help me to solve the problem.

What version of the game do you own?
Do you have any mods installed?
What are your computer specs?

I haven't install any patch and mod. My specs have about 20GB, I think that's enough for me. In addition, my computer is not a desktop but a netbook. (Samsung NC 10 ) Does the game support my netbook?
