I feel the exact same way about the French uniforms. We can only hope for a mod.

And here it is. Just cooked this up for you two. You'll need to use the Mod Manager, found here. This will replace France's color to a medium-light blue when they are a monarchy and when they are a republic (sorry, can't have the color switch with the government ). Enjoy!

Thanks a lot! I'd rep if I could

I love France but I can't stand the white bourbon uniforms, I prefer the Napoleonic blue!

I don't mind as I don't enjoy playing France and I don't fight them very often because they rarely stray in Europe and are too easy to wipe out...but I'm giving rep just because you did this!

Interesting mod, thanks for pointing that out Jihada!
Legion 12 - I'd like to have an answer for you, but I honestly don't know. I don't think that the mod will work on MP, since it's messing with data files. But who knows? I seem to remember that unlock faction mods worked on multiplayer, and they edited the same file that I am.

Sure! Just open up your patch.pack (or in the absence of a patch.pack, your main.pack) in the C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data folder with LtChamber's Pack editor. Then open the "db" folder, then the "factions_tables" folder in the pack. Select the file "factions". Then press Ctrl-X (or alternately, go to "Choose a Pack Action" at the top of the screen and choose "Extract Selected"). Select your C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data folder and press OK. Then go to File->New. When it prompts you for a folder, choose C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data . Press "Choose a Pack Action" and scroll to "Change Pack Type". Choose "Mod". Then press Insert on your keyboard (or go to "Choose a Pack Action" and click on "Add File(s)"). Choose the file C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data\db\factions_tables\factions . Then select the file in the pack manager window. What you should see is a table much like an Excel spreadsheet. Scroll down to the row of the faction whose color you want to change, then scroll over until you see a column labeled "B1". There should be three columns on your screen - one labeled "R1", one labeled "G1", and one labeled "B1". These reference the RGb color system - the numbers, ranging from 0 to 255, denote the amount of one of the three primary computer colors (red, green, or blue). (So for example, putting 255 in R1, 0 in G1, and 0 in B1 will give the faction a pure red color). To find the value of a particular color, use this useful little appelet. The numbers that you put in each column are read together by the computer and translated into a color using this system. You can scroll to the right to see more columns set up in the same way. The R1, G1, B1, R2, G2, and B2 columns control a faction's color. (I believe that R2, G2, and B2 are post-revolutionary, but I'm not sure). I have no idea what the R3, G3, B3, R4, G4, and B4 columns do (if someone could enlighten me, I'd most appreciative). The R5, G5, B5, R6, G6, and B6 columns control a faction's uniform and unit cards. Once you've made your changes, save and quit. Now your changes are stored in a mod pack and must be enables using the Mod Manager.

Glad to help! About the photo, I honestly have no idea what that code was doing there - there was no photo. Ah, well, my bad!
