Default The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant

A little read series but an amazing one that would be perfect...
    Factions:
    Giants of Seareach
The Lords and People of Revelstone- the 7 leaders of the free peoples of the land based in their mountain fastness of Revelstone
Ramen & Ranyhyn(think Rohan- the maeras and tenders of them)
Wanyhim(Minor)- thick magic wielding orc type creatures

    Evil:
Lord Foul The Despiser- think sauron
Drool Rockworm- think saruman, a pawn of Foul
Ur-Viles(minor)-magic wielding uruk-hai more powerful then the wanyhim

I loved this series, however I don't think they were "little read": "According to his current publisher, Putnams, those two series sold more than 10 million copies." (from Wikipedia).

It would be a major mod though and require many skilled modders. It would be hard to do the Lords and earthpower properly.

thats the issue then- I have no modding experience
I was thinking of using another's mod(Third Age Total War) and making changes to it

    Good luck with that.

Pretty sure you're going have to learn how to mod or find someone interested.
    Stupid is as stupid does...

Ideally, you would want to set it in the Illearth War period. The Woodhelvennin and Rhadhamaerl could be made as seperate factions, though technically they were supplying warriors to the Warward.

The baddies main 'footsoldiers' would be CaveWights, with the major fighting power coming from the various types of Demondim. Waynhim would be available in small numbers to 'good' factions, probably as mercenaries. They seemed to turn up to help but not to have a real 'side' other than their own.

Ravers would have to be set as powerful generals for Lord Foul ...and possibly allow Giant Ravers later on when the Illearth Stone is found.

Bloodguard would be interesting to create.... it would be tricky to simulate the way their numbers would recover. They were supposed to send back the bodies to the hills where they lived and another would be chosen as Bloodguard. They would need to be a bodyguard unit for the good guys Generals only. Not recruitable.

There is a lot of possiblity in this mod, and it is a fiction series that I had considered as a mod possibility myself. Regrettably, at the moment, my modding time is severely limited my the Warpstorm.... but who knows. When I have that ready, I might be willing to lend a hand.

I'd advise to take the mapping course at the university (in archives). When a part of a mod is done already, people will join or lend a hand a lot faster than if you only have an idea. It's the way I've done it until now, and my map will be edited into a submod of SS when CC has the time.
