    Default Lion ability?

I have noticed my faction leader has an ability in battle, which can be used only once per battle, a lion.

    What does it do?

My guess is someone fights well for a short duration? Is it the leader? Is it the whole army? What does it do exactly?

I think it's called "Courage of the Lion", which probably gives your troops a very strong boost in morale? If this is the case, then good to use when your units are at breaking point...

It's called "The Heart of the Lion", it's a leftover ability from crusades campaign, and it instantly rallies any routing units.

    Cheers!

Reduces morale, or only has an effect when it can route?

Does it have an area of effect, or instantly applied everywhere on the battlefield?

Wonder if I should use it straight away (when the armies engage) or in the middle of the fight...

It makes all your routing troops on the battlefield stop routing, turn around and be ready to fight again instead.

No area effect, everywhere on the battlefield.

You should use it when your troops are routing.

It's not everywhere on the battlefield... It only applies around the general

It's just like "rally troops" from regular general, except it makes units stop routing instead of boosting morale

Too bad it doesn't instantly route all enemy units.

In new RR/RC Nazgul have their own abilities, which are not quite so friendly, especially the Witch King , but then so do some other characters such as Elrond, Celeborn, Glorfindel, King Dain and Aragorn.

I think it's kinda useless in Gondor Campaign cause under Ecthellion I never had any routing units;and he's too old and die quickly.

by the way,I think I read somewhere that this ability also raises the morale of routing units to maximum

The horn of Gondor blown by the son of the steward would be an fun addition. Stiffens men's resolve in the face of overwhelming odds!

I thought the horn of Gondor was only blown when reinforcements were needed. What if you got an extra group of spearmen or somethign when the horn was blown?

I allready knew what it was doing, I used this ability in Kingdoms Crusades . It is really helpful in times of crisis.
