    Icon13 Gracious me....

Hello all. This is my first post on these forums, and I truly am ashamed that instead of giving a small introduction, I am forced to waste a good post on asking for help . I have tediously searched and searched some more for the particular problem I am having and have, with no luck, found nothing....

To start off, I have Rome:Total war Gold edition, not the steam version.

My problem is such: I have just downloaded TNS 2.0, and placed the files in the wrong folder. Then tried in vain to place the folder into the "Rome Total War" file directory. I ended up uninstalling the entire thing, and reinstalled, and patched up BI.

I have jsut done everything all over again, this time placing the files in: Crogramfiles:TheCreativeAssembly:Rome-TotalWar.

The DOS screen ran, successfully, and I thought I had it, little did I know I had just pissed against the wind...

I clicked on the TNS icon, and it ran BI!!! An uncomplete BI, as in everything was the same... There was not even any thing involving TNS....

I have tried jsut about everything, and nothing has succeded, and the installation instuctions on the home forums (cant remeber the link off the top of my head) of the mod are down.

    Please help!!

    EDIT:

I went ahead and downloaded the RAR file, and found the instructions, and followed them religiously, but I am still having the same results, BI launches with no changes whatsoever, well just a little here and there, like at the loading screen the title "Barbarian Invasion" is no longer visible, but as for the factions and such, still there....

Ive just about given up, someone please help me!!!

You have clearly not installed properly...

First, make sure the folder structure of your installation is proper. You should be seeing a Rome - Total War/bi/ci/data folder with the mod's data inside.
Then, make sure you point the shortcut to the proper directory. If your RTW is in a Creatve Assembly directory, then the "target" line of your shortcut should read:

    Code:
    "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -nm -show_err -mod:bi\ci
    Are these exactly so?

Thank you for your answer, I solved the problem last night, it seems that the solution the someone gave regarding pasting the Bi folder from the RAR file into the one which I created or something like that....

    Anyways, its here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=273333.

Just one more question: I know where to find the patch, but I am not sure how to install it, i figure I might as well ask, or risk screwing everything up :S

The patches are .exe files, you just fire them up and when prompted to enter an installation folder, you point the installer to your *MAIN* RTW folder (that is, the folder named blablabla/Rome - Total War), and not any subfolders. Try it, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask again.

Thank you very much for your help. I just have one more small question possibly not related to technical issues, why is it the the dwarves, elves, and some other units have no unit card? It that just something that maybe I goofed on, or is that the way it was released?

All units have UI cards in 2.6 iirc; have you patched up correctly?
