    Default Guilds

do Guilds have any meaning, do they meant to be in DLV at all?

whilst playing as Armenia a pop up appeared a few times offering me to build St. John guild, but then in the pop up window it said not meant for this culture, dont translate i actually went ahead first and gave it a try and established it, but noticed it doesnt give any effect apart from some health bonus. so i destroyed it but the pop up window carried on appearing every so often. probably explorer guild could be offered instead? would be more appropriate i guess...

sorry if it was asked and answered elsewhere already.

also seeing how DLV got all the possible realistic features added to it it'd be awesome and very fitting IMHO to add something similar this mini-mod http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=102254. its called Spoils of Victory and it meant for EB. what it does is:
Historically, a victory in big battle brought, besides its tactical or strategic effect, also a substantial financial gain for the victor. The fallen enemies could be stripped off armour and weapons, the camp with supply train and sometimes even war-chest of the defeated enemy could be captured...
This humble mirco-mod tries to simulate that within the limitations of the RTW engine. Basically, after a large battle (say, more than 1200 soldiers on the loserīs side) the victor gains a trait saying that enemy camp (and even treasury if the battle was really huge, like a full stack on the loserīs side) was captured and the faction is than rewarded with some money (1000,- or 3000,- mnai) next turn. Depending on the generalīs personality, there is some probability that he might get some other traits, some permanent, but most only temporary. He might even use the captured enemy supplies to enhance his own supply situation...

apart from financial reward for the victor and certain traits gain he also gets -% movement depending how big the caprured spoils were.

i think this mini-mod (if its possible to implement at all) would be a very nice and fitting addition to this already largely realistc and outsatnding mod.

Wierd. I bet it is some sort of flaw, but it might give your general verry good traits vs. muslims.

There is allready a suppy-system in DLV. This is supplied from new lands(keep moving), beaten enemy armys(depends on how big), boats(yes, that cog fleet you got), the tavern inside settlements, etc. The generals can even pick up the other generals sword.

But there is also the psycological issue with armys marching too long out in the field, and at some point, your army must relax in a settlement.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

    1. what about cultural differences though? will something that works for Catholics work for Orthodox too?

    2. yeah, i know. DLV supply system rocks! the only part i found it'd be nice to add is giving an army winning a major battle some money bonus to represent capture of enemy camp and other spoils collected after victory.

Yeah - good idea - feels better after a battle to get some booty money! Drawback might be that if you loose a battle - you loose a figure of cash in penalty.
