If they rioted, burned and looted, i don't feel sympathy for them. If they were killed in peaceful demonstration as described in cases, then it's an outrage.

But let's be frank, Xinjiang isn't gonna be independent soon. They are wasting their time. It will at best be Quebec.

Pictures from Norwegian news (dunno which news has the pictures originally, but I guess everyone has them now) makes me believe it is a riot. Flipping police cars and burning stuff etc. The leader of the Uigur foundation in America says the Chinese police shot randomly into masses of demonstrators. Stupid demonstrators, trigger-happy cops?

i guess more information is needed. Maybe some rioted but most didn't? It's hard to know.

Well, the Iranian folk were also rioting, so it'll be interesting where the "no sympathy for rioters" and "they might have a point" line will be drawn.

just from what i heard, it seems this huge mess in xinjing today started with ethnic violence between two groups, which is quite frequent in xinjing today. It's one of those a few ppl fighting and large groups get involved and everyone was beating the hell out of each other the next day and the police beats the out of everyone (maybe mainly non-han ppl).

not sure at this point though.

I've heard the direct cause was the killing of two Uighurs by Han Chinese in a factory.

But ethnic tensions have existed long before that.

CCP is always supressing both Han and Uighuis, so though as a Han, i admire their struggle for independence.

Umm even if someone is rioting its hardly a reason to kill them. Jail them certainly. but its kind off going too far to kill someone whos rioting unless hes totally ***** insane
Can understand it happening by mistake but 129 people? what do they use to quell riots? a monster truck?

Well it is China, so it wouldn't suprise me if the are a bit trigger happy with them guns.

And if these Uighur protestors just attack random people on the street just because these are Han Chinese, they asked for it.

Roy, you are the last man in the world -and maybe in the universe- to speak about ending a riot or any kinds of uprisings with a clean اhands and everyone go home and eat popcorn. where do you live man? Israel right? the worst place in the world to deal with riots or any kinds of peaceful movements. so don't try to blame Chinese security forces who they hell overreacted and justify yours.

The Uighurs are struggling for self-determination and equal rights, although I do not condone violence against the Innocent, I wouldn't be upset if a number CCP officials were killed.

The CCP officials are well being protected by the cops, and all the Han killed are common ppl.
Though i feel sad for the killing of both Uighurs and Han ppl, i attribute the death to the fault of CCP tyranny.

They don't have equal right?? Huh??

No, those people just want to indepedant (and partly jealous about other provinces' better economy), not because they don't have equal right.

Since few Uighurs can speak Chinese, it is more difficult for them to find jobs even in XinJiang provinces, just like what happens in Tibet. Han occupies most jobs there. And all the natual resources are exploited by the state owned companies leaving only pollution, it is logical for the Uighurs to demand equal rights.,

They don't have Cultural and Religious freedom nor the right too self-determination. I'll be blunt, I don't ing about any CCP officials or police officers being killed by Uigher separatists.

As far as I know, only some religions are allowed to be practised. Such as Buddishim and Taoism . The Falun Gong minority is being persecuted too, but you don't see them flipping cars and attacking bystanders.

I don't give a rats ass to what the reason these people demonstrate against when they attack bystanders and other innocent people that just happenes to pass by.

No cultural freedom... Hmmm... What?? You know what the heck you are talking about??

And religious freedom... Not just Muslim but everyone in China has none, should every Chinese jump out and protest??

Then go and learn Chinese; if the school is taught in Chinese why the new generation cannot speak??

And pollution is spread in every province, no excuse; unless Uighurs are demanding same level of pollution like Beijing.
