    Default Install problem

    Hello,

I made this account to make this thread, so I will go strait to the question:

I got the Medieval II: Total war Gold edition, installed it on my great grandma's computer and enjoyed the game. Now I'm home and tried to install the game on my computer, but the installer wont let me.
The reason is that the C drive has only 6 and a half gb (Don't ask me why) of free space. Ironically, I have an other drive that has about 900gb of free space.

How can I install the game on the other drive? I know, the installer lets you choose where to install it, but first you need to choose what parts to install, and it only takes the C drive into consideration and won't let me continue. Any answers?

Hey d00d, i had exactly the same problem with space but not the installer. You have to select the the other hard-drive (D?). Sometimes the installer wont let you do this on autorun. Some people tried going in to my computer, clicking on the M2TW disc manually, finding the setup.exe and double clicking it. See if this works.

so when you click on the setup.exe, it wont allow you to click "browse" etc, or change the location?

When I click the setup.exe it opens the install, and does it normally = The problem I gave in the first post is still happening.

Edit: Oh, ok, I will try to install seperately and see if that works.

Yes, I did now, and I am installing the way said there (Going to the CD1 directory)...
I will edit this post afterwords to tell if it worked.

Edit: I hope there will be no cutbacks for installing this way.

    Ok, now I'm getting serious..
I installed the way that was told in the threads: Went to the disk1 folder and installed, then put the second disk in and installed kingdoms.
Now I try to run the game. The game gives some error messages and I push continue and it works.
Then I click play and guess what? It opens another game (Total annihilation: Kingdoms). I am going to start using curse words IRL if this thing wont start to work. Any help?

Ps, sorry for the double post, but I do not know how to delete posts.

The only real way is to make room on C:. There are workarounds but no guarantees.

Knowing the size of harddrives these days, what other programs do you have installed in C: drive, including operating system, firewall, antivirus, all games no matter where you got them, dvd burners, music downloaders, everything?

Ok, I think the problem is solved:
    I deleted/moved some stuff I don't need and started a defragment on C.

I will come back if I have more problems. Thanks everybody!
