There are two reasons. One would be if it's an existing file, the file is read-only. Right-click the file, click properties, uncheck the read-only box, save, and go back to it. If it's new file and Vista, you have to have administrative rights to do so.

Wow thanks for the prompt reply anyway the read only didnt work. When I installed medieval II i installed it in an area called Partition Which is different then where i saved it to last time. Could this be it.

It could be. The old DOS workaround that still works because once in a while I have to use is save your new file as something else. Go back into My computer, delete the old file and rename the new one.

So how do i create a new folder and do i name it C:\Program Files\Sega\Medieval II Total War\data\export_descr_unit.txt file or what
