Faction Switching

Hello,

I remember reading awhile ago about editing the saved file to switch which faction you were playing as. Does anyone know how to do this?

Several things:

save_games\x.empire_save\CAMPAIGN_SAVE_GAME\CAMPAIGN_ENV\CAMPAIGN_SETUP\CAMPAIGN_PLAYERS_SETUP\PLAYERS_ARRAY\PLAYERS_ARRAY\CAMPAIGN_PLAYER_SETUP for your nation, first bool is True if the faction you are playing, False if not.
save_games\x.empire_save\CAMPAIGN_SAVE_GAME\CAMPAIGN_ENV\CAMPAIGN_SETUP_LOCAL name of the faction you are playing.
save_games\x.empire_save\CAMPAIGN_SAVE_GAME\CAMPAIGN_ENV\CAMPAIGN_MODEL\WORLD\FACTION_ARRAY\FACTION_ARRAY\FACTION for your faction, 8th bool is the one you are playing - true if you are playing it, false if not (the one you are playing will always be on top).
save_games\x.empire_save\CAMPAIGN_SAVE_GAME\CAMPAIGN_ENV\CAMPAIGN_MODEL\WORLD\FACTION_ARRAY\FACTION_ARRAY\FACTION\CAMPAIGN_PLAYER_SETUP first bool - true if you are playing, false if not.

There are probably more detailed stuff you have to change, and you will almost certainly have a FOW problem, but those are the base things you will have to change. Hey, those 4 may be the only ones you need. Good luck.

Is possible to have a complete list of what should be changed to switch faction during game, by editing savegame ?

I was thinking about something like this earlier in the day. My idea was taking RTI 3 and instead of playing as the US, play as Britain. I tried to edit some files but when I started up the the campaign, i was still the US on the first battle.
