Default Muslim imam, a Greek Orthodox priest, a rabbi, a Buddhist monk and 10 atheists in the same room?

I am not sure if this is for Thema Devia or for religious discussion (please moderators move this topic if so) but this may just be the first contest show that may be worth watching.

    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/...249965101.html

Four spiritual guides from the different religions will seek to convert at least one of the 10 atheists in each programme to their faith.
Those persuaded will be rewarded with a pilgrimage to the spiritual home of their newly chosen creed – Mecca for Muslims, Jerusalem for Christians and Jews, and Tibet for Buddhists.

What do the atheists get if they convert someone?

My favourite "pilgrimage" place would be Alpha Centauri... yet, somehow, I doubt I'd ever receive such a prize for participating.

It would also take you about 73,000 years to get there with current technology.

Space isn't necessarily a purely atheistic kind of place though.

And never have I claimed that.
But it is of great interest to me, and it is of a lot greater interest to me since I became an atheist, so that's why I ask for space exploration.

Are you sure there are planets around at Alpha Centauri?

I hope so. But if humanity had the technology to get there very fast (2-3 years), I'd take the risk.

Just seeing as two atheists mentioned space. Though I suppose it does consist largely of nothing at all.

“The project aims to turn disbelievers on to God,” the station’s deputy director, Ahmet Ozdemir, told the Hurriyet Daily News and Economic Review .

It'll be entertaining to say the least.

Why the producers feel they must try to convert atheists has serious implications for Turkish secularism though, if the company receives state funding in any way..

If the show only had an imam you'd be right. It's just some producer using people's beliefs to make some money. Nothing new actually.

How the hell did they find those imam, priest, rabbi and a monk to participate?

Secularism means no religious contributions, regardless of how many religions are being funded...

Fun to watch them pretend to go buddhist in order to score the plane tickets to Tibet.

Whatever, it's TV, and TV is scripted.

    @IrishMan
Come to think of it, it is quite likely that they get 10 fake atheists. You know the type... "I'm an atheist, but...", the kind of person willing to lie for teh god.

I hate "reality" shows and never watch them, but this is gold, I hope that I can at least get few episodes with some translation (my Turkish is not good).

Still, how will they know the winner is not just acting good?

its a reality show. its fixed. Youll probably have 6 athiests who instantly convert, 3 who take a while, One stoic guy and then one of the early converers backstabbing the other people who converted by saying hes an atheist again.
And the imam will go crazy and beat people over the head with a rubber duck.
