    Default Game not loading

That is the best way that I could explain it. It worked a few days ago. I am running the latest patch with the Broken Crescent mod. BC works fine but the original game will load up to the splash screen before abruptly going black with the hourglass icon as if it is loading. It doesn't though I checked my firewalls, ect to make sure that it wasn't being blocked and it is on the trusted applications list. Any ideas? I played the vanilla version for two weeks and I didn't have any crashes.

I wouldn't classify it as a CTD since it doesn't crash. I guess I need to just reinstall right? My specs are way up to par, I had no problems running it prior to this, and all of my drivers are up to date.

Broken Crescent overwrites some vanilla files to work. When it does that, vanilla no longer works.

What I do is have two medieval2 copies, one clean for my mistakes and one for Broken Crescent.

Edit: Slurricane beat me. It is the animation files that get overwritten.

Seems like what once happened to me.. did you by chance copy the BC animations to vanilla?

hmm.. Seems like it would be better just to do as irishiron says and do that.. however it may be better to copy the folder and put it in a mod folder rather than have two installs.

Unfortunately, Slurricane, the medieval2.exe doesn't recognize the animations because it can't find the modeldb in the mod folder. tried it. Instant ctd. Kingdoms.exe includes the ability and that's how Stainless Steel and Third Age get away with it.

Hmm.. Does the OP have Kingdoms? It would seem that he could copy the m2 folder into the mod folder and then install the game over it.. guess I may be wrong as I have kingdoms..

I just spent two hours downloading BC again, and I can't find its skins textures or the modeldb it would need. I'll look at it closer as it's 1am here. I think they just renamed everything in the expanded.txt to circumvent it.

Kingdoms.exe would kick it out. Get the Barebones mod or the Retrofit mod and merge them and then you have a chance. There is a full thread on the subject in the Mod Workshop that I haven't had a chance to really sit down and read.

Edit: My apologies to the Broken Crescent team. Their mod is modfoldered with the animations and it does work. I just tried it and proved myself wrong. My apologies to all I have misinformed.

Edit 2: @Jusso: Reinstall the mod. If it worked before it will work, again.
