What movies are people here wishing for?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HL7ictaThd8

(There is some nudity in that trailer, for just a second or so, NSFW)

I do not want that movie (well, I do, but I don't) but the very end of that trailer is what I want.

I want to see the next Fu Manchu movie, obviously starring Nic Cage. He is perfect for the role.

    Anyone else know more?

    Films I'd like to make:

A film about the historical account of Vivoide Vlad Tepes III Dracul - the impaler

An accurate film taking place during the American civil war

    A remake of Silent Hill

A film based on Final Fantasy X

    A Metal Gear Solid film

A more in depth film about Howard Hughes

I'd like to make a film set during the Byzantine period

A film about black holes and the theory of wormholes and space-time travel

A film studying the personality of Thomas Jefferson
Heir to Noble Savage in the Imperial House of Wilpuri

    Interesting.

I am not sure how a film about Vlad Tepes would go over, at least it's marketability. He is mired in myth. Which is why the closest you will get to that is something like the made for TV movie a few years back. (5-10 year?)

I love movies that take place during the ACW. Either the war, or things happening during the Bellum period.

Silent Hill does need to be remade. That movie they made was awful.

Every Final Fantasy movie I have seen has been largely garbage. And I wasn't that big on Final Fantasy X, but be my guest!

    Never cared for MGS.

Never saw the movie they made about Hughes. It didn't interest me.

Byzantine period would certainly be interesting.

Black holes and wormholes?!?!? Hopefully one better then Event Horizon!

A movie about TJ would be cool.

    -------------------------------

Shyam, I have had the Aenid just sitting on my book shelf for 6 years...still haven't gotten around to reading it. I keep forgetting about it. :/

only if it could be well done, and with video game based movie's batting average, that is very unlikely. Even more unlikely now that Microsoft can't seem to get anyone to produce it.

Anyhoo, a movie on Caesar. I mean, a good movie about Caesar. Like historical epic movie. But not like Alexander. That tried too hard and failed epically.

Re movies based on video games - they are awful.

It's about time someone finally got around to making a real film of H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds. A proper one actually based on Wells' book and set in late Nineteenth Century England, not some mawkish Hollywood crap that was mainly about Tom Cruise and his character's relationship with his children, with some CGI happening in the background. Wells' comment on Empire, colonialism and evolution deserve a proper highbrow film. Except one with fighting machines, London burning and the battle between the Martians and the dreadnought Thunderchild.

    One day, maybe ...

H.G. Wells War of the Worlds was a boring read, I didn't mind the movie too much. Yes it had its fair share of "Hollywood" moments but it wasn't as bad as the book.

I wonder why Hollywood consistently turns out total cliched crap. Then I read posts like the one above and it all becomes clear ...

There's one currently in production, and what's wrong with the original?

Or a biography of a real mafiosi like Carlo Gambino.

The battle of Yonkers would definitely be difficult to portray, particularly as the main reason the Army manages to lose against a zombie horde is mostly due to morale and the chaos of the Great Panic. Although the Army forgetting to pack enough ammo for the artillery is pretty unbelievable stupidity. But, hey, it was the zombie apoacalypse so it might just have slipped everyone's minds.

But the current WWZ movie got delayed again so i continue to lose hope.

Yea, I heard about the World War Z movie. I haven't checked World War Z out. My friends all loved it, and are excited, and apprehensive about the movie.

And I would imagine that the battle of Yonkers is largely artistic license. Yonkers, no one wants to live there, spare the undead.

Hm I'd definitely love a new Silent Hill, as long as it completely avoided trying to repeat the that we got. Except I kind of liked the theme music.

An FF movie that isnt a strange animation that either a) has absolutely nothing to do with FF or b) is basically a flick for emos

A movie based in the Fallout universe with the same dark, pop culture reference filled humor would be interesting.

A Vampire: The Masquerade movie would just be badass.

I wouldnt mind an MGS movie either, and I hear one may be in the works.

    I like video games

    - Biopics on Caesar, Trajan, Napoleon, Al Capone, Charles Lucky Luciano, Benjamin Bugsy Siegel, Owney Madden.

    - A Prohibition gangster film directed by Martin Scorsese, staring Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci.

    - Gladiator 2

    - A good WW2 film on the American and Japanese points of view of the battle of Okinawa.

    - A good Korean War movie.

    - A movie on the war between Danny Greene and the Cleveland Mafia in the 70's. Just found out this one is coming true. A movie is being made about this and it's called The Irishman.

    - Another movie on the cocaine cowboys of 1980's Miami.

    - Elder Scrolls Movie

I don't know why people are all bashing the current Silent Hill film...I thought it wasn't too bad...

    I'd like to see:

    - a movie based upon The Darkness video game/comic

    - a film version of The Looking Glass Wars or something inspired by it

    - a new Roman era military film...possibly covering the conquest of Gaul and Britannia and more of Caesar's victories or one about the civil war between Caesar and Pompey

    - a remake of Alexander centering more on his military victories than his sexual preferences and daddy issues (yes...I'm looking at you Stone...)

    - in general, fresh new war movies for the american revolutionary war, american civil war, world war one, vietnam, and maybe throw in a new medieval Europe or Japan war film

    - a remake of Alex Garland's novel The Beach...the first one sucked hard and had little to do with the disturbing masterpiece of pop culture and paradise.
