    Default Trespassing on Senate Lands

I accidentally had one of my generals use up all his movement points while passing through senate lands. They are now at war with me and all their armies are sitting on their borders glaring at me in a really unfriendly way.

So now that the senate has exiled me due to my own ... er... clumsiness/stupidity/blur-ness, what should i do? (a reload is not possible, hur hur...)

Boy oh Boy, The Senate's land is not yours to tresspass. Are you playing Hard? cuz if you are playing Hard, and still before 205 BC I suggest you to abandon your current game, and restart -_- its the only way without cheating......

playing VH/H, and was doing pretty well... despite the gajillion stacks of gauls hovering in N. Italy. I think its around 205ish BC, hee...

so far the Senate hasnt actually done anything aggressive(apart from scaring the crap out of me), they're just sitting all their stacks of gold chevron praetorians on the borders.

Another problem could be that random cities start to rebell against you because LT designed the civil war this way. Dont't know how this presents at this stage but even a cities without riots can turn against you. I

Well, If you have tons of Population in your towns just mass produce Princepes to give yourself a couple of AIs incase if the Senate attack you together... If you get wat I mean, Just place 3-4 Full Legions together so that way if anything you can still hold them for a couple of turns...

@Blade0815: Budd, riots won't happen if you place a low taxation, the only thing with me is that I cant stick with one general all the time because he would eventually betray me, I like to manually create a civil war thought... Since Iam already at 162 BC... I just use a give_trait system to let 4 generals with full legions betray me altogether... its a crazy experience... I think people should try it, anyways...

my armies are pretty hard pressed to keep the gauls out of my N. part of Italy. As long as the Senate doesnt attack me, I think I'm fine. (does the senate ever attack your cities? can anyone confirm this?)

and is it possible to broker a ceasefire with the senate? I tried offering map information, 50k gold, bla bla bla tribute and still no go.

Following your description I would say you started war with senate and then took rom as fast as you could?
If I'm right this explains why you missed the experience to loose a city with good loyalty in one turn.

Dude I know the senate can take your towns without fighting.... It happend before, I hate senate, they are just there to give you missions so that you can have extra loads of things when you already have your own things needed to be done.

Oh Senates WILL ATTACK you if you do not have at least 4-6 full Legions surrounding Rome. For sure Senates would ... I got rid of my Senate as soon as I could so that I can use some extra cash made from Rome.... to anyone out there who the Senate still did not outlaw you yet but want to kill the Senate.... Just tresspass Rome or sent 1 Assassin to kill Anyone within the Senate Royal family... even if the Assassin fails and dies(Most likely) you would get Outlawed... hehehe

managed to find an earlier reload from an autosave where the senate is still my friend before i disabled it. *phew*

it's kinda self-suicidal if the senate decides to go on a warpath because u accidentally marched 20 men through their lands no? it's like 'ZOMG we're being invaded! let's destroy our fellow countrymen and leave ourselves vulnerable to the Gauls and what not!' >:O

Well, the gameengine isn't perfect, thats why you need to be aware of the houserules that will help the AI along the way of behaving as it should... Besides, I like having the senate controlling Rome as it is right now, and the possibility to fight and conquer them at a later stage. Once you've conquered mainland Italy and stabilized the northern border, this issue of staying out of Latium won't be that much of a biggie...

You could use Sulla's force diplomacy, and make the senate allies again!

Right, you can use the FD script we created for the even 7.0 version. Might be useful for those who manage to by accident go there. Good idea Budd, +rep!
