    Default LEA >>> EA?

    Playing as HE, I've had a weird experience. I don't know what other people's experience is like, but in all my campaign my light elven archers have outperformed my elven archers. Of course, the EA do better at melee, but that's not what my archers are for. In terms killing orcs from afar, my LEA do significantly better. The EA can kill about 200-300 orcs, but the LEA consistently kill 400+ sometimes hitting 600-700 if firing at the bunch up enemies at the gate.

    Is anybody else experiencing this?

    When playing SE, the Sentinels of the Woodland Realms (SWR) were an obvious upgrade to the LEA. They could do everything the LEA could, but better. I expected the same from the EA, but I was sadly mistaken and disappointed.

    P.S. I'm playing v1.1 with RC/RR submod

    in rc/rr im pretty sure there no diffrence between EA and LEA at ranged combat, the EA are just better up close because of their higher armour and attack

    There is a small difference; LEA have an 8 ranged attack and range of 170. EA have a longer range of 190, as well as a ranged attack of 10. Could it be that your LEA have more experience than your EA?

    That's what really bothers me. They have better stats and all yet they under-perform. And I tried with newly train units and the LEA still do better. I have no idea what's creating the difference

    Perhaps it's the 20 units difference, but it shouldn't make a difference of 200+ kills, and it should actually be made up for by the better stats of the EA.

    I'm not sure I could prove it but, yes, I get that impression. I'm still on v1.0 with no submods (relevant to this anyway). My Silvan Lights* and Sentinels seem to gain experience faster than Heavy Archers.

    Do they have a faster firing rate perhaps? Or more ammo?

    * Sounds like a cigarette.

    In RC, LEA are 'skirmish' archers, they shoot more slowly to a shorter range, directly at their target. EA are 'missile' archers, they shoot almost twice as rapidly to a longer range but less accurately. They are best used on bunched enemy targets.

    Ahh right...that partially explains things. But in most cases, would you say the LEA is a more efficient killing unit? It seems to be that way anyway. When is the EA more efficient since against bunched up units, the LEA also do very very well. Also, why creates the difference?

    Different tactical usage, different positioning in formation - skirmishers are usually out in front.
