Weather Question

I noticed the other day as I was assaulting E Osgiliath (just being able to say that kicks ass) that the weather suddenly started raining in the middle of my battle. Now it's possible that I just didnt notice it but I'm fairly certain the rain started mid-battle...

Can anyone shed some light (no pun intended) on weather effects? The reason I'm asking is because I'm wondering if it is an event mid-battle and if so, would it be possible to trigger the event manually and thus change the event.

So, let's say instead of it raining mid battle, we change the scale and start making it rain ducks.

There was a thread here a while ago about trying to make it so that gandalf or saruman could shoot fireballs. Now I understand that isnt possible using the traditional method of modding the weaponry, but what if we were able to manipulate the weather conditions to trigger on and off etc....?

Actually I dont understand what you want to change at this behaviour...
Sometimes it is raining from the beginning, sometimes in the middle / end of the battle same with Snow.
There is no point in changing this.

Are you wondering if it is possible to remove random weather mid battle? Or are you asking if there is a console command to change weather on the fly?

It's something people do when they think a thread is going to be closed, in order to get some last minute enjoyment out of it.

Maybe you can change the time when the rain appears (which I think is totally random) but you cant change the rain animation.

How exactly is the rain created in game? physically I mean? Is it rendered? Could what it looks like be changed even if the frequency or size couldnt?

I'm thinking maybe not fireballs from Gandalf but perhaps ash and fire out of Mt Doom on the map? It would certainly change the feel of that battle...
