Default what the  was in my bed?

I'm trying to go to bed, but I'm having trouble. I look over, and I see an inch long piece of brown thread - except the thread it moving. I jump up and turn on my light, it's reddish-brown, and wriggling around, it had two small antennae or feelers on its head, and either a lot of segments or many legs or both. I grabbed it in a tissue and flushed it.

Now, does that sound like some parasite? (a quick glance through human parasites on wikipedia revealed nothing that looked like it). I've had a centipede or two make its way into my room where the gap of my AC unit in my window is, but this was much smaller and worm-like. I'm clean, and I don't eat undercooked pork or fish or anything. I would have felt the thing crawling on me, I hope. It's just that it was on my bed...

Am I doomed or was this just a bug that made its way into my bed? It was very thin, so it wasn't a bedbug...

Euhm, I think it was a centipede, how long was it? To me it sounds just like an unwanted visiter looking for a warm cosy place. I know you were freaked out but maybe you should have put it in a glass bowl or sth so you can examine what it was. I don't know any parasites that look like that though.

bad juju killing innocent bugs boeing, go save 15 flies, 20 roaches, and a spider to make up for cruelly drowning that wayfaring insect.

Probably a centipede. I used to get them in my old house in J-Town.
It was wise to kill it; their tail-end stingers can hurt like the dickens.

Yup, a centipede mutant. Seriously, I have those in my apartment. From far away it looks like a mosquito but you get closer and it's long and all spiky with legs. Scary as hell.
Lucky it didn't bite you because their bites hurt like a .

Definitely a centipede, they can be pretty small.

They're harmless centipedes. They actually are quite helpful because they eat other insects, but look really freaky when crawling around your bathroom or kitchen. I usually hesitate in killing them since I have this natural order sense of pest control so long as they're not crawling on me. Got spiders with webs near the windows and some of these things crawling around. Seem to work since I don't get many other bugs bothering me.

Unfortunately, there are many insects that bite that are commonly found in ones home, even if its clean.
