Didn't read it.
Too...Long....
I am guessing it is saying that the more you try to win, the cheaper you become or something like that.
I would prefer people read it before commenting but basicly he's saying that "scrubs" by imposing a "Code of honor" on themselfs and others are only stopping themselfs growing as players.
That took much less time.
I had read the first little section, before I exited.
Sorry If I am sounding moody.
well they have a point. while most veteran players refrain from doing things like massed phalanx corner camp n, we do exploit every single unit asset and explore ways of maximizing efficiency. for me this is reflected in updating my presaved armies once a month. for my clan this is reflected in the no admitting defeat, no leaving, no alt tabbing rule. all rtw elites it involves looking at every possible asset, Heavy cav, light cav, horse arch, heavy inf, light inf, cannonfodder, archers, long range archers, slingers, chariots, wardogs, medium cav, and usually thinking outside of the box. people do not appreciate it when a player in a 2v2 decides to rush parthia and macedon using armenia and britain. The britain player must have extreme focus and multitasking skills in avoiding the macedonian phalanxes with his 6 gold gold barbarian warlord chaz, while still ordering his infantry, slingers and headhurlers and keeping in touch with his ally, which requires learning the quickcommand system like your life depends on it. sure we could have used egypt and rome but me and babarus wanted a challenge. people often think of rushing as some hotheaded noob using only melee troops to charge his opponent and hope for the best. that is
. if you even know the basic principles of a rush you know it requires as much if not more concentration and conviction than skirmishing. Replays and screenshots of battle results do not show you how
ing hard those tactics are to play. most of the time i basicly feel likei work at a butcher store because my opponents lack the will to survive. i win 90 % of my battles easily, and thats not because i only play noobs. most of the time i play intermediates and veterans. i dont like to waste my time on noobs. i however doubt that 99.9% of the world has this attitude. this attitude can be learned...
This also includes "Codes of honor" such as CWB.
Sirlin also knows that a RTS is not a FPS. in FPS i agree there shouldnt be a lot of rules, and if the enemy team dolphin dives or bunny hops, i will definately place claymores on their spawnpoints and rig outposts with C4, but real time strategy games are different. i agree with the idea of doing anything to win within the rules but seeing as this is only a game, i dont see the life and death importance. even if someone breaks CWB i still send them packing.
I h8 trying to use pigs for ele!
Fire arrow while they far away or spears when they up close will do for me!
