how to drag allies in ?

im playing as gondor and spent the first 25 turns killing isenguard. rohan is fine but im having my ass handed to me by sauron. how do i get rohan to help me? thanks

You cant.

The only time when allies will help you is when an army of them is near your own army and you attack/get attacked by an commom enemy.

You could, with very good diplomatic get them to attack mordor. (This includes giving them many provinces^^) But they won`t coordinate their attacks with yours etc.

Eh... usually they drag me in. My last battle with an ally was just terrific. My ally asked for assistence. I said yes, and my ally just took off and I had to fight the battle on my own...

In my first campaign I was playing the High Elves and I was defending Rohan from Isengard and Mordor and almost every single battle in which they assisted me they had to come from far out of the mountains. And by the time they get anywhere near the fighting the battle is usually already decided. I think they do justice to the lore though. They're always late...

Anyway, just park your armies next to your allies (army or city) and wait for the enemy to come.

You would need to give them a city bordering Mordor and let them build it up. Your culture is different then theres so it will be a while before they start training troops to fight Mordor. You will have to defand them while they build up.

Make sure they've granted you military access before you move a bunch of your armies onto their turf, though. Otherwise, your relationship with your ally could suffer.

Fun if they actually help. I usually send a full stack over to my ally (Gondor) and fight alongside them for Osgiliath.

Sometimes they help alot in battle/campaign other times they just sit there and dont do

Usefull in battle? Most of the time they arive just to catch some routers that eluded my men.

The best use you can make of allied reinfrocements is the following:

1. Run to them to help them survive. (Meaning, hide your units behind their backs)

2. Let the enemy close in. You let your allis get all the glory. (Meaning, they die for you and weaken the enemy ranks.) You might want to shoot some arrow salves at the enemie, or do some charges with your cavalry.

3. When your allies are death you might consider sendinng your troops in. If they still live and the enemie is dead/routing, the better! Send some Cavalry after them to get some POW.

4. ???

5. Profit!

When Dark Lord calls invasion you may send half-stack of cheap units, build the rams, break the gates and watch how your allies die taking settlement for you.

So as Dale, I started out by taking a rebel city near the silvan elves.
I laid siege on the city first and formed an alliance with the silvan elves.
Next turn the silvans elves attacked the same settlement I was sieging and thought, hey easy siege.
So I took the settlement with the help of the elves.
The very next turn, I get a scroll that pops up and says if I wanted to ambush the elf which was still near my settlement.
I withdrew and next thing you know, it said I was at war with the elves o.O

It's called move_character.

Yes I know it's technically "cheating" but if its to make the game more fun and alliances actually useful then I'd say full speed ahead!

You can drag them in....... demand them to attack "evil faction" (something close/bordering their regions) and offer attack "evil faction" + give them some money.... most of the time they attacked that faction with 1-2 stacks.
I have experienced that this only works when your relationship with that faction is very good, they are at war with that evil faction and they boarder their lands.......

It is a bity that all mine allied dont do anything. It would be very cool if they might do something. Maybe come to defend mine cities. Or if Sauron calls invasion, then good factions get one mission: They have to defend that city. If I lost that city, all good factions try to get it back and if they succeed, they will give it back to me.
