    Default Active Unit Officers

Hi there, I've been playing empire total war now for a while, and I've noticed that cannons don't have anyone that motion them to fire, even though they do in the trailers and clips running in the background. Also, normal units DO have officers, but all they do is walk around, and stand while the sorrounding troops are shooting. It would be really nice, if someone could pack some animations into the officers, and/or add them to artillery units.

Artillery units do have officers. They just sit on their horses facing away from the enemy.

EDIT: I found some officer animations. The officer raises his sword for a few seconds, and then lowers it again. Is this what you meant?

I just need to figure out how to implement it in a realistic manner and then I'll probably upload it. Might take a while until I get it to work properly (if I replace the idle animations the officer will just repeat the animation every few seconds, which is hardly ideal).

Give the artillery officers captain animations. They'll point, shout orders and use a telescope.

    Hmmm...
Interesting idea, didn't think of that. I'll try it and see what happens. For the infantry, though, they need some other animations, such as the one I suggested (which exists-I've found it, but I haven't implemented it properly). I'm also thinking about changing the cavalry animations so when ordered to attack only the officer draws his sword. I think most if not all of this should be possible.

Yes it is. I've played around with it quite a bit for my spontoon mod.

Try the taunting animations, cheering, etc animations.

My officers shoot a pistol at the enemy and fight in melee. They also man cannons if the unit is short some men.

Yes, I have your mod (which is great, by the way, I tried doing it myself for ages without success). But what I found is an officer animation which is apparently used only in one of the RTI movies (the models and animations which appear in the movies seem to be in the game but are not used anywhere else) which has the officer raising his sword, then lowering it as if giving the command to fire.

I've added the sword raising and shouting/pointing animations. The problem is that the officer keeps doing them over and over without any relation to what the rest of the unit is doing, which looks odd. I've tried using it for the stand_trained_to_combat_ready animation but then he does it only once and then just stands.
