    Default Line Infantry Basic template

    Hello everyone!
I've been working on a template for the line infantry texture. The file is a psd so you should be able to open it with gimp and photoshop. On this template I have selected various part of the uniform ( coat, lapel, pants, etc...) and i copied them on a different layer. You can then easily make a new infantry texture in about 5 min. Once all the change are done, merge all the layers and save it as a dds file and rename it like it should be ( ex: euro_line_infantry_france) ( you need the dds plugin of course...) ( compression: DXT5, generate mipmap checked) and you should have a brand new infantry texture!

Of course this is only a simple tool and it could be refined but is perfect for mass production! Since I found that tool very useful, I tough i could help some of you.

    I hope you like...

This is fantastic work again Orion, I hope you plan to do this with other models!

Without a model editor it's pretty hard to tell which bits are attached where on a model so contributions to the community like this are a great help in recycling the models.

Perhaps in future you could include some help with how the texture maps (like bearskin grenadier's bearskin top section) and maybe brightly colour it with some screenshots of the model in game so it's obvious how it maps.

    Absolutely fantastic work.

When you save, you should see a drop down menu "Compression:", then select BC3/DXT5.

Good work Orion. Will be of good use for those, who just start working with gimp and ps for modding.

Personally i prefer to work with masks, correction layers and layer styles. They allow smoother edges and rework changes, but if i would start using those graphic tool, i would definitly be happy to have such files at hand.

Great idea , but would it be possible for you to put up a 'png' version as I don't use photoshop or gimp and my photo programme (Picture It) don't open this file with layers?. ty

I don't mod ETW (yet anyway), but I can understand how much this will aid the community. Well done!
