Default CTD deus lo vult specific

I just installed this Mod v. 6.1 on a fresh install of m2tw and kingdoms with the 1.5 patch. I also installed stainless steel. When I go to start a new campaign in DLV it goes to the loading screen gets to 100% and then CTD. I get a dialog box saying Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error. In the original game, stainless steel, and the other kingdom expansions this does not replicate.

Any experience with this or suggestions.

Trying in win xp compatibility mode doesn't make a difference.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    My dear friend Brian,
Stainless Steel meshes with vanilla files [overwrites many of them] and your Medieval II Total War installation won't be able to support other mods, too.
So, you have to follow the next steps:
    - uninstall everything,
    - make a clean copy of Medieval II Total War
    - install Kingdoms expansion
    - install patch 1.5
Then you can make a copy of the Medieval II Total War folder in another location in your PC to install Deus lo Vult [this is optional, in order to always have a clean installation as a backup]
You can name the folder something like Medieval II Total War DLV
    - install Deus lo Vult 6.0 in the mods folder of Medieval II Total War DLV
    - install Deus lo Vult 6.1 in the Medieval II Total War DLV folder
Then you are ready to have some real fun!
A mini-mod is never late! Nor is it ever early. It arrives precisely when I mean it to do!

Well that is frustrating considering how long it takes to install everything about this game, but thank you so much, I would never have realised that was the problem.
Ok, now to uninstall and reinstall.

I have the same exsact thing, but I have a totaly clean version. when it orignially happened I thought maybe one of the old mods had changed something..but deleted everything and reinstalled everything like 3 or 4 times with the same thing happening each time..took me like 6 hours to do it to. Any ideas?

Interesting. The game works with v6.0, just not with 6.1

Even with a fresh install and no other mods I still get the same result.

    Thanks,
