Your evolution of music taste?

Just a funny thought that came to my head, that through my lifetime i'v had quite a few different music tastes. So i thought it could be fun to share my "Music Timeline" and compare it to others

Mind you! That i'm not proud of some of them

Backstreet Boys ( and other "pop" ) -> DAD ( soft rock ) -> Eminem ( rap ) -> System of a Down ( Metal ) -> More Heavy Metal [Current]

You are evolution of music taste?

I went from none to indie. With a bit of prog and nu prog in between. It happened in the space of a year, ie- last year.

Mmm it probably started when I was a kid and bought my first cd, which was Gorillaz, after that I discovered P2P programs and my taste really diversified. Over the years I've really just stuck to listening to almost everything there is.


Gorillaz, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem ------ Almost every music style there is--------Currently Big bands and Sinatra

Um...

Nu-metal-->alternative rock-->i have no idea my current taste is.

Rap (Eminem, Tupac, 50 Cent) > Dance (Clubland albums) >

> Trance (Tiesto, Oakenfold etc) > Hardstyle (Donkey rollers, DJ Zany, Technoboy etc) >

> Electro (Boys Noise, Justice, Daft Punk etc) > Indie (Kings of Leon, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs etc) >

> Classic/filmscores (John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Steve Jablonsky etc)

pop/pop rock » gangsta rap » R&B » nu-metal/alternative rock » heavy metal » thrash metal/speed metal/power metal/metalcore

Counting Crows - Greenday - fall Out Boy and Panic at the disco ( I am ashamed as well ) - Arctic Monkeys - Bloc Party - Damien Rice - MGMT - ------------

I still listen to the last 4 all the time.

I was into those pop bands (Backstreet boys, NSync) when I was younger, then that hip-pop crap a few years ago, and now it's mainly rap, R&B, and reggae.

Classical -> Rock (stuff like The Beatles and The Kinks) -> Blues Rock -> Progressive Rock

hip hop > heavy metal > thrash metal > hard rock

Led Zeppelin (still listen) -> OutKast (still listen sometimes) -> Coldplay -> Linkin Park -> Switchfoot -> Gorillaz -> Death Cab for Cutie (still listen to their first album) -> the Killers (still listen on rare occasion) -> Arcade Fire (still listen) -> the Beatles (still listen) -> Nirvana (still listen on rare occasion) -> Radiohead (still listen religiously, my favorite band) -> LCD Soundsystem (still listen) -> Beck (still listen)

Plenty of other artists in there, of course. That's the concise version

Punk/Metal - Prog - Folk/Jazz - Psychedelic Rock - Hip-Hop/Electronic musics

A rough list of what I was 'into' but I've always liked trashy pop songs and classical as well as good musical scores and film scores..

Pop music > Hard Rock/Classic Rock > Metal Purist (Power Metal and Melodic Death Metal mostly) and yeah.. Still ashamed about that phase lol > Deathcore > Metalcore and Hardcore > Everything (now) from Hardstyle to Southern rock, from Rap to Classical music. Anything goes, really.
