Rome V1.2 wont install

Ok, I used to have rome installed, v1.2 it was fine. No problems

However, I didnt have a backup and it was full of a whole jumble of skins and maps and so on and I wanted to install a few mods.

So I Installed another version of ROme. I then got fid of the first version. Except I didnt actualy run an uninstall, I just dumped the folder in the recycle bin.

I made a backup copy of vanilla and then tried to install the patches. V1.1 worked fine, no problem, but then when I tried to install v1.2 it said 'the setup has detected that v1.2 has already been installed, setup cannot reinstal this patch'

The other problem is the v1.2 installed doesnt ask what directory you want to install the patch too, so i have no idea what's happening or how to fix this ever.

Can anyone offer any ideas where whatever it is that's telling my installer that v1.2 is installed is hiding?

EDIT: I'v run regedit and removed all traces of RTW there, still nothing. I really really don't know where else to look.

Iv already reinstalled once so I don't think that'll get rid of it, I dont know how im ever gonna reinstall the patch
