    Default "Please insert the original disk instead of a backup (4001)."

    Casual member of this board, sorry if this has already been answered.

    I recently installed SS 6.1 after getting the Kingdoms expansion. Works fine sometimes, but most of the time when I try to start the game I get the message that is the title of this thread. I presume this is a Securom error. Following the Securom advice (Device Manager->"DMA if available") is unhelpful.

    Can anyone help me out?

    I solved it simply by putting the disc into another disc drive.
