1.3 Weird Issue Loading Campaigns.

Right, until yesterday afternoon I had been doing fine with the patch. However, now whenever I try and load my Prussia campaign I started after the patch was installed, the loading bar goes to full, clips, and goes back and forth. Sometimes this is all and it freezes, other times the screen cracks, showing blue triangles on the screen. One time this even spread to my desktop and I had to restart the computer. Still other times, (when I am loading a battle) I can hear my military advisor rambling on about something but I can see anything other than the loading screen. I downloaded new drivers on Monday so this can't be the problem. I do not have the DLC.

Specs:
Windows Vista 32 Home Premium
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
3.00 GB RAM
Intel Core 3 Duo E4500 @ 2.20GHz

I tried to start a new Prussian campaign multiple times and it just crashes.

Edit: Just tried to do likewise with Austria. And it loaded, but then began to flicker off the loading screen and the frozen campaign screen. However, the advisor was still talking.

Do you own the recent DLC that came out?
Perhaps its a problem with the new units?

No I don't have the DLC. Crazy thing is it was working even after the patch but just started yesterday afternoon.

Last night I uninstalled Empire and deleted all additional files, such as AppData.
Reinstalled. And worked fine. Simple fix if you don't mind giving the axe to all your saves.

I'd suggest not trying to load a save that was made prior to the 1.3 patch (if you have that installed).

I personally deleted the contents of my 'appdata' folder (the high level one with the underlying saves and replays going as well) prior to downloading the patch. I only really did this as for some reason ETW disappeared off my games list - but I still had my DLC intact (thank goodness).

I also had to remove the map pack file that has the Lordz maps in it - but that was to be able to play MP.

Yeah Empire disappeared for me too. I think it was back after a day or two...

Are you updated to 1.3 and trying to load an old saved game? Can you start a new campaign? Do you have any mods from before the patch? This patch has in most cases proven incompatible with prepatch savegames and mods.

It was the graphics settings in my case.For some reason the patch has stopped me be able to use all the extra settings like bloom,HDR,FOG all at once,turning some of them off solved the problem.

Well, when I did it I had no mods running, and I could load my GB campaign just after the patch. A while after though I couldn't start a new campaign.

As I said above, I just reinstalled.
