Yes but make the cyborg look and act exactly like a human. We wouldn't really want to put our brains in a cyborg body like that one given the choice. But one that's better than the organic original and not subject to aging, injury and disease would be just the job.

Maby a better form of cyberwomen or maby cybermen are a never.
I saw a fascinating TED presentation about the future of human evolution. The presenter felt quite strongly that human-machine evolution was the next step and that given the current technological levels and where they are headed, the "cyborg" was where our future was headed. Bionic eyes, limbs, ears, computers implanted into our brains. Its happening now it will be part of our future.
Its very fascinating. Its very possible in our life times (if you are under 30) as well. Many of us may very well be part machine when we die.... if we die (scary thought).
Watch, we will get people around the world inevitably saying how it's turning us into monsters, it's not right, blah blah blah.
Personally, for me, if I can look outwardly human, that's good. Plain and obvious cyberization is a no-no for me.
Maybe they'll even revolt and ound their own nation, like in Supreme Commander?

Yes, it is certainly the way of the future and it started a long time ago.
Spectacles, breat implants, contacts, synthetic appendages are already here. It will only become increasingly popular.
Why live as you were born if you can be something better?
Blut und Boden
We don't need to completely replace our bodies. It couldjust be acomputer implant in your brain that will help you function as good as a computer while your human capabilities and advantages remain.

In a sense yes. They are already developing and testing prostethic limbs that are wired into people's nervous systems. They say in ten years or maybe longer they will be able to make stuff similiar to Will Smith's robo-arm. You can say what you want about war, but if there's one thing it helps is the proper research and advancement of prostethetics, which aren't just useful to veterans.
