This happened to me too. It happened right in front of an artillery position, so I figured that it was stakes that had glitched to be invisible.
Its pretty stupid that cavalry run into the stakes and instantly die even when they aren't charging anyway. They should just make cavalry rear up in front of them and halt in their tracks, which would still make them devastating because any head-on cav-charge that suddenly halts right in front of a firing line or artillery battery is totally screwed. And that way you wouldn't have retarded suiciding.

Hey, they ordered one of their AI coders to work on that aspect for a year, got that?!

Meteor strike. Part of the realism in the game.
Perhaps this incident is related to the not unheard of case where ships of the line, mid formation, surrender and start sinking without firing or receiving a shot.
Perhaps it is part of CA's rare but deadly critical hit system, except in this case Life just handed you the wrong dice roll!![]()
In the 1700s, horses often ran into bushes and killed their riders. In some campaigns, it is actually estimated that up to 10% of cavalry losses were bush-related.

Hi guys long time no see...
Well stright into the problem.. There is no killing zone.. BLACK HOLE.. or bushes that kills on insta.. or a new devoluped battle wepaon.. like one other said on top above me.. it's invisble stakes.. by the AI... as he as been in Guard mod stand... they place it out but we cannot see it anymore. When we are placing out the stakes, we can see them ofc... But the AI's staks are invisable now.. It will only be noticed by the enemy infanteri jumping over it or by your own infanteri units.. or if any horse rides over them and die. :-(
It's clearly an enjoying bug.. very frustration because now we cannot use our cav attacks/tactics anymore in the game. We wont move our cav or General in the center of the enemy line ever again till it get fixed some how or by a patch?
Insteed of making fun of all this... We should try to help each other those who actully having this problem. For me in personal it's crusial really and very enjoying to be honest. Never ever have i hade a such visuel big before in my game.. since 1.3...
If there is anyone on this board who know how we few could fix this enjoying bug.. please write it down or PM me.. i would humble appriciet for that helping hand.
Thank you in advance.
PS. It's great to be back again

based on what ive seen all defences are bugged, not just the AI's as its been said
ive seen areas of deployed defences that were mine only show up half way

Yeah thanks for the invisible death traps with the new patch CA!
... ohh yeah give me my multiplayer campaign!!
bad luck my friend![]()
That seems to be a new bug that 1.3 introduced. I see random deaths and rank depletions just moving in towns or crossing fences. Both infantry and cavalry. Haven't seen that for artillery yet.
