M2TW and Third age

I am all excited as I am quite new to TW - I have just discovered the Third Age Mod as I am a big Tolkien fan I MUST MUST HAVE IT.

I have ordered M2TW and the Kingdoms pack should be here tomorrow!!!!!!!

I wondered if there was an Idiot proof guide to installing mods as I have never done this. If this works I can put Empire on the back burner till the patches are available

Do I need to install both the game and expansion for the mod to work.

I am using avista on my computer

-install Medieval 2
-install Medieval 2 Kingdoms (this can take a while)
-patch to 1.5 (http://help.sega.com/index.php?_m=do...loaditemid=215)
-install Third Age (you can not do anything wrong it is also two *.exe, part 1 and part 2)

you are done, but maybe you want to install some sub mods

I am a technical idiot and even I qas able to install it. After downloading med 2 and Kingdoms install part 1, then two, then patch 1.1 and play. All you have to do is keep pressing next. I cant help you with submods because I dont know how to install them myself.

Umm i havent done update to Kingdoms 1.5 and it still runs?
My question now is: If I update the game from 1.3 to 1.5, will I encounter any problems?

no you won't just 1.5 is fixes some med 2 bugs

I dont have 1.5 and TATW works. It does however not implament voices or music for the mod.

Just follow the instructions, they're pretty simple, everything has an installer so it's not much different (if at all) than installing any other piece of software.

Make a thread here if you encounter problems.
