Hello,

I am Patrick (PatricianS). As a lover of the Rome Total Realism mod I lurked around this great site for a long time, until the urge to join in and be part of this community was so great that I decided to bite the bullet and register in February last year. After some initial tentative posts in the RTR forum it wasn't long before I got sucked in and found myself contributing regularly to the discussions of other RTR fans. It also amazed me, and made me feel so good, when I was able to help so many by answering their questions on this wonderful mod.

After a few months of this I was so surprised and honoured when Tony83 of the RTR team approached me and asked me if I would be interested in joining the team and helping him out officially as his deputy PR guy. Lol - not knowing anything about modding I was a bit nervous, but I jumped at the chance to give something back to the team that has given me and so many others such gaming pleasure. so I started my duties.

As well as helping "police" the RTR forum (I was later made a Local Moderator) I also tried to learn modding and contribute in other ways. One of the projects I am particularly proud of is putting together the RTR Mod Index . I also put together and posted a short tutorial on Creating Alpha Channels in Photoshop.

As a full team member of the RTR Development team, I have been learning "on the job", so to speak, and am actively involved in helping in the development of our latest RTR project, FOE, in a number of areas. I am working on the new Campaign and Battle User Interface (the more or less finished article here #136)(please note that these links are connected to unpublished material in the RTR Developers' forum, so I hope you can access it). Additionally, I have also been involved in a number of coding sub projects for FOE, as one example, the development of the new Government Trees , a very complex addition to the gameplay.

As we near the completion of FOE, things are very busy at the moment as there are lots of things to coordinate and integrate. It is a huge challenge but also hugely rewarding.

It would be a great honour to become an Artifex and I hope you will look kindly on my application. I will continue my work with the finest team that I have ever worked with no matter what your decision, but it would be the icing on a very rich cake.

Hi Guys,

I have never tried to patronise anyone before but I feel I simply have to try on behalf of PatricianS. Patrick is an absolutely splendid fellow, who seems to be able to turn his hand to anything, although I've not tried his coffee yet! He came to our team's attention very soon after he registered with TWC. He was always making positive contributions to the debates and often helping out in answering questions in a consistently helpful and friendly manner. Indeed, he would frequently chip in before I had a chance to respond to someone, and it became a bit of a game between us as to who could reply to posts quicker - lol.

We took Pat on, on the strength of his contributions to the forum, but he has amazed us in the way that he has quickly picked up modding and is making such valuable contributions so soon after joining. A lot of what you will see in FOE is thanks, in at least part, to his efforts. His "resume" above* will give an idea of the things that he is getting himself involved in. In particular, I'd like to draw attention to the major role that Pat has played in work on a major a major new gameplay concept for FOE, that of the Newly Conquered Regions (NCR). He has played an important part in its development (see #2 here). 2D graphics, coding, formulating and implementing new concepts, coordinating tasks and disciplines - nothing seems to phase him. He even outdoes me in cheekiness.

I heartily endorse his application to become a Citizen of TWC, and I would be honoured to be his patron and welcome him into the House of Wilpuri. I should be most grateful if you would please look kindly on him.

I have seen PatricianS around the place whenever I decide to take a trip around the RTR forums, and his contributions and attitude are both to be commended. I did not know that he had become part of the Developers team, and his work there only add to what I have seen him doing. I'm inclined to vote for a yes.

Thank you AL. It seems clear to me that he is qualified. He is both quite active in posting and has given a good amount of substance to the projects and now as a part of the RTR team.

I will be voting yes.

I will be voting yes RTR is one of the finest mods in exsistance and it looks like he has done a lot of work for the mod and I trust Tony's judgement on this one.
