All was going well within the Kingdom of Bohemia until jolly King Josef died and left his crown to his adopted son Slavibor who in turn crowned his (second) son Rostislav, 'Crown Prince of Bohemia'. This of course left the first born son of King Josef, Rudolf a little peeved.
Rudolf suggests the new King and Prince go hunting on his estates..

It probably wasn't a good idea to go hunting with a peeved Rudolf and a band of hired Thuringian archers.
Now things get a little weird on the old family tree, Rudolf is snubbed again as King Slavibor's eldest son Konrad, is crowned King. And although Rudolf, his younger brother and four other male family members are on the family tree, a traitor to the Kingdom of Sicily called Nene is crowned 'Prince'.

General Nene formerly of the Kingdom of Sicily. Persuaded to join the Bohemian army to fight rebels on the Italian peninsular. Crowned 'Prince' by King Konrad, perhaps in revenge for the suspicious deaths of his father and younger brother.

I thought this was strange, is it a script/Grand Marshall ability?
I've just never seen an adoption offered to anybody other than Faction Leader or Faction Heir, maybe I haven't played enough.
Five years on and King Konrad is killed at the battle of Brandenburg where the Obotrites decimate the Bohemian attackers. Nene is crowned King and Rudolf finally gets his royal title.
More strangeness: King Nene claims to be the son of Normand noble Tancred but Tancred has been said to have died childless.
