Yeah, I heard the Riddler was supposed to be in it. I can't remember exactly who was rumoured to play it, it might have been Johnny Depp. Then again Depp was also rumoured to be a replacement for Ledger for the Joker (bad idea in my opinion, no matter how talented Depp is). There is going to be another undoubtedly. Let's just hope to God there's not Batwoman, Catwoman, or Robin....or MR FREEZE (sends chills, pun intended, down my spine thinking about it)

Forget the Cod this man needs a Sturgeon!
I remember hearing somewhere (can't remember where, unfortunately) that they were considering Riddler AND Mad Hatter for the next Batmovie. As for Depp, I think he would make a better Joker than a Riddler.
There's no official word on anything. Just rumours and hearsay about possible villains and actors.
Personally, I'd like to see Two-Face come back, maybe Harley Quinn, and the appearance of the Penguin. IMHO, Penguin is one of the most realistic Batman villains. He's just a pudgy eccentric rich dude with mob connections. A bit more realistic than a sociopathic clown, an immortal ninja lord, or a guy who gets half his face fried but acts like there's no pain at all. I wish Nolan would change his mind regarding Penguin and use that villain.
But alas, there is no official news yet. The most common rumour, though, involves the Riddler.
The have got much money of the last movie, so it could be possible that the make a sequel.
One of the few to still have his first avatar in place here on TWC.
I sometimes miss this place you know. This is where my journey began.
well I believe it's a fact that christian bale was contracted for 3 movies so I'm pretty sure we will get another one.
a rumour I heard was eddy murphy as the riddler...
pretty sure that's just a rumour
'I'll be damned ' Marcellus Wallis
I hope so!pretty sure that's just a rumour
he's dead.I'd like to see Two-Face come back![]()

God I hope there's a sequal. The last two batman movies have been incredible! Just no catwoman or penguin and I think I'll be fine with whichever villains they use.
if depp can do as good a job as ledger then ill watch it. if he cant or he falls back to the bad acting of Willy Wonka remake then ill steer clear of sequel.
i honestly dont see twoface or riddler doing any better than the joker as a bad guy. just too kick ass crazy.
Damn you!
I like the idea of Mad Hatter, or what about that actor that got deformed into that big monster and what not? They could make that into something interesting. A very vain actor that gets messed up looks or something and goes on a spree. But still, I don't see anyone outshining the atmosphere of fear that Joker put on Gotham in the Dark Knight.
This pretty much explains it:
"Warner Bros. president of production Jeff Robinov hopes a third film will be released in 2011. Nolan is not committed to another sequel, explaining that he does not normally line up projects right after completing a film, noting "Is there a story that's going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one? That’s the overriding question. On a more superficial level, I have to ask the question: How many good third movies in a franchise can people name?" He added the only reason he would return would be if he found a necessary way to continue the story, but he feared midway through filming another installment he would find it redundant.
Nolan had written a rough story outline and made some notes by December 2008, despite his uncertainty in returning for the sequel. Later in December, Alan F. Horn confirmed that while discussions with Nolan about a third film were ongoing, no casting had been done, and Horn categorically denied all such rumors."
So there could be a third film, and he has made notes for one, but Nolan wants to find a really good way to continue the series without it feeling redundant.
The good thing is he realizes many sequels and trilogies don't turn out well, so he's not rushing into it, just keeping open to the idea.
0_o Stupid idea for a sequel in my opinion....
There is no way that they can even hope to pull in half the ratings that the first one did....
Do you know why? Because Heath ledger is out of the picture.....
He may have been koo koo for co co puffs.......but he was a beast Joker.....
I would love to see who they plan on replacing him with.....![]()
