    Default Campaign help?

In my current campaign I have problems with my loyalty especially in the foreign towns. I conquered Mediolliam(sp??) and it's loyalty is 0 and revolted twice and a high ranking general died in the riots. I then tried to build a colony but it got worst, I exterminated the city to 1000 population but still samething. I don't know what to do.. I have a full stack in there also. The same is going on with other cities I conquer. Can someone help?

I had major problems myself with a couple of cities doing just that. The best thing to do is when you conquer a city of another culture is to make sure you do NOT try to change it's culture too early. You can check the influence levels in the City Details tab. Build as many happiness buildings 1st then replace the religeous ones and finally tear down and rebuild other culture buildings before building your 1st colony. You should not have to do this all the time, sometimes you can change it rapidly. Remember a General of a different culture automatically causes unrest on top of the Faction leaders influence so leave him out unless he has very high influence. Also remember diplomats spread their culture too. Hope this helps, good luck

Hmm, I think it well. I did notice that they didn't like my general, I should of took him out before he got killed. I well definitely put some diplo's in the area.

    Mediolanium? Couple of Q's:
    1. What faction are you?
    2. Any colonies been put down in the city by other factions?

What could be happening, is your a barbarian power, the city has been converted to western and you come in and conquer it. Since its barbarian native, it automatically converts to barbarian, but then you get 100% western unhappiness.. And before you can get the situation under control, it revolts. Same goes for if your Carthage, you conquer it, its western, but since its barb native, it converts to barb and you get major unrest... The only solution? Low taxes, full garrison, if its the first situation I described spam diplomats first, and get your highest influence general and send him in. Otherwise, you'll just have to cheat happiness buildings.

I am Rome and I'm pretty sure no other faction put a colony down. I deleted all of the barbarian shines and replaced it with Roman ones. I then tried to build a colony then all hell broke loose(0% order on low tax)... It revolted on me 3 times and I exterminated the population 3 times, don't these ers know? Then after countless times reconquering it Germania came in and conquered it and now I have a bigger problem..

That's your problem: You tried to colonize without pre-converting the populace with diplomats/FM's. When you do that, you get 100% barbarian unhappiness, and the speed of conversion doesn't help you enough to get PO to 70% within 2 turns. You need to a) start building the colony b) at the same time, have enough diplomats to have a 5 or 10% conversion rate (ie: western conversion is 5 or ten more than barbarian). That'll get the culture bar to be at about 50/50 by the time the colony finishes, which gives you a perfect transition.

Alternatively (not that Scutarii's tip is worse than this, it's perhaps better), you could, granted that your financial situation is stable, have a "diplomat legion", or basically 20 diplomats grouped with a small army that you move from region to region as needed. This should only be moved in on the last turn or two before the colony is finished being built, as if you do it to early, Western Civilized unrest soars.

Make sure the army "carrying" the diplomats doesn't get killed. That would be bad.
