stick in the mud over mod foldering?
Well, because I have had a 'lingering idea' for a long time that might be very useful for us in setting up alternate factional play scenarios, and swap factions. That idea is...mod folder RS2 to ITSELF!!
IF, you can mod folder an entire mod to vanilla, I see no reason why you couldn't mod folder a modification of RS2. This would avoid many issues of having to swap files around (with the corresponding player complaints that something didn't work or CTD'd because they didn't follow instructions). All the files would be totally isolated from the main install, and could be worked on separately and even independently of the main install.
The map itself could be set up radically different if we so desired (as far as where factions are). All factional icons and graphical stuff can be totally independent, rather than having to copy over existing stuff in the main folder. I see a ton of things about this that would make it much easier for us in the long run.
The only thing is, I have never tested it so I don't know if it would work. Is there any reason it wouldn't?
